About the home

The first thing customers fall in love with is the breathtaking lake view, tranquil atmosphere and large garden.
However by the time people leave, they have grown to love the relaxed way of life, the warm and welcoming locals, the plentiful local cuisine and the scenery of the whole of the lake which makes the area seem like a dream!
The property commands impressive panoramic views of over the lake, Menaggio and beyond and is lauded for its superb location. Take the ferry to Bellagio for some silk , art and leather shopping, stroll around the pretty piazza in the village here in Menaggio with its romantic lakeside walks and cafe culture or rustle up a feast in the modern kitchen and unwind in the garden after a delicious alfresco lunch. But be warned, once you encounter Lake Como you'll want to return again and again!

The apartment is part of one house split into 2 apartments side by side.The living room opens via patio doors onto the terrace looking out onto the lake. The comfortable sofa doubles as a bed for 2 more guests. Satellite tv with selected channels is available as well as free wifi connection.The kitchen is fully fitted in a modern style with all mod cons. The solid wood table sits 6 guests. The bathroom contains a shower and w.c.
Upstairs the double bedroom, on the mezzanine floor level is complete with log ceiling, ample wardrobe and yet another lake view completes the picture.

Further details outdoors:
The apartment is based above Menaggio, 15 to 25 mins walk to the village (depending on your fitness)
and is situated in a very quiet neighbourhood.
The accommodation boasts ample car parking away from the main road.
The large garden enjoys superb lake views. Take afternoon tea here or strike up a banquet on the bbq!
The beauty about the property is that the house is divided between you and the owner only who is available when you need anything or advice on the area!

The apartment contains a double bedroom on a mezanine floor which may deem the apartment unsuitable for elderly, infirm or young children. The patio area and garden are flat however there is a slope at the end of the garden which may be unsuitable for young children if unsupervised.

The Lombardy / Lake Como Area region

Lake Como is arguably the most beautiful, probably the most serene and almost certainly the most welcoming area in Italy!
Steeped in history with its majestic lakeside villas and grandesque churches, blessed with beauty from its deep blue lakes to the spiralling mountains and enriched with ad slower than slow lifestyle!
Here people come to take to the waters and bask in the sunshine with the mountains acting as a spectacular back drop and the lake as a beguilling setting par excellence.
For many a decade artists and poets alike have drawn upon the mystical beauty of Lake Como for inspiration and in modern times it has become a haven for tranquility for the likes of such luminaries as George Clooney and Donatella Verscace.
Pretty lakeside strolls, delectable, seasonal cuisine, cafe culture, scenic sailing all await you. Just remember, once Lake Como ensnares you, it has you for life!

The Menaggio area

Bellagio is only a short boat ride across the water from Menaggio , visit for art, silk and leather. A lakeside village to rival the best in Italy!
Menaggio itself is the perfect host for your stay on the lakes. A lovely square, a scattering of privately owned boutiques, coffee shops, ice cream parlours and impossibly delicious restaurants. Palm lined, lake side walks give you an indication of the mild climate that Menaggio basks itself in.
Lenno, just 15 minutes drive from here is home to a lovely man made ,golden sandy beach set within breathtaking lakeside scenery.
Cernobbio, with it's famous hotel and gardens to the rich and famous-Villa D'este ,can be reached by boat and car (see how the americans live here in the lake!)
Villa Balbianello, scenes for the latest James Bond film, 2006's Casino Royale in Lenno is well worth a visit as is Villa Gaeta, right here in Menaggio (see picture)
Milan can be reached by car or train (approx 1 and a 1/2 hours) for football, fashion, formula 1 (monza-1 hour from the lake) and history in abundance. See Leonardo Da Vinci's last supper interpretation, the Duomo and the glass roofed galleria vittoria emmanuale just off the main square.
Como city itself is like a miniture Milan without the hustle and bustle and far more compact and dare i say it, prettier by half! Lakeside promenade walks, perfectly formed piazzas, a 14th century gothic cathedral, typical italian cafe lined walkways, boutiques galore as well as the home of The Alessandro Volta's musuem (the inventor of electricity back in 1801).
As Menaggio is so close to the swiss border, Switzerland and San Moritz are all easily accessible.
