The Lombardy / Lake Como Area
Lake como arguarbly provides the most serene setting in the whole of Italy. Set in the shape of an upside down wish bone, the lake is nestled between huge mountain scenery visible from either side of the lake offering an idyllic backdrop to the dolce vita Italy is so renowned for. The milder temperature the lake enjoys present a comfortable climate to relax and recuperate from gentle lakeside walks to lazy afternoon lunches amidst majestic lakeside scenery. The deep blue waters of the lake offer an enticing invitation for an afternoon dip or for a boat trip to one of the quaint villages that surround it. For lovers of flora and fauna a short journey will take you the grand gardens of Villa Carlotta or for sheer breathtaking beauty visit romantic Villa Balbinello with its fairytale lakeside location.
Famed for its jaw dropping beauty, the lake has long since attracted many famous names to its shores from Shelley and Longfellow to Stendhal and Liszt to modern day luminaries such as Versace and Clooney . In fact the recent final scene in the latest James Bond adventure was filmed here in Menaggio at Villa Gaeta (see picture).
Futher afield Monza (formula 1), Milan ( Italy's capitol of industry and fashion)and Madesimo (skiing)and St Moritz in Switzerland(skiing, shopping and people-watching) are all within easy reach. Menaggio is very close to the Swiss border, so day trips to Lugano-should you wish to visit a different lake-is possible.Please ask for specific details, we will be happy to advise you of our favourite day trips and recommended restaurants to help you get the most from your stay!

Menaggio is perfectly positioned to enjoy every aspect of the lake. From the ferry stop you can take a leisurely boat trip to beautiful Bellagio, the quintessential lakeside village perfect for a day out meandering around the narrow cobbled steets whilst admiring the art or picking up some silk or leather souvenirs. Venture out to Varenna, another impossibly beautiful lakeside village or take the boat to Como city for a fascinating day out. Lesser known than its bigger brother of Milan, Como nevertheless ticks all the right boxes when seeking out the typical italian city. Perfectly formed piazzas, breathtaking gothic 14th century cathedral, stylish shopping, narrow cafe lined alley ways and here you will find history in abundance including the Alessandro Volta's musuem famed for his invention of electricity back in 1801.

Further details indoors: The whole essence of the apartment is luxury, space and comfort.The spacious dining room comprises 2 leather sofas which will comfortably seat 6 guests. Sit back and enjoy your favourite dvd on the flat screen tv or plug in your mp3 player to the speaker system to enjoy your favourite music. The state of the art kitchen is fully equipped with all mod cons and may well tempt even the most reluctant chef to rustle up some delicious italian fayre...we even provide you with your own cook book! The glass dining table seats 6 or you can enjoy an aperitifo on the balcony while watching the sunrise over the lake. The two double bedrooms have been designed with space in mind including ample wardrobe hanging space. The master bedroom features a beautiful en suite bathroom including a shower, w/c and bidet. The apartment also benefits from a futher stylishly designed bathroom with another showerand w/c.
Downstairs there is a further bedroom located via the spiral staircases which twin beds . In total the apartment sleeps 6.
Further details outdoors: The swimming pool is available for all 3 apartments which share the house. The apartment features an exclusive garden suitable for dining or sunbathing directly in front of the house with a large landscaped ground to the side of the apartment. The garage,situated beneath the apartment , is located beyond remote control gates giving you total peace of mind. There is also a video entry phone fat the entrance to the apartment for added security.
Further details
A deposit of 25% is required to secure the apartment. The full balance is due 12 weeks prior to your stay. A 350 euro secuity bond is required on arrival. If you have any special requests from airport collection to organising a wine tour just ask, we're here to make your stay as memorable as possible.
Conditions
We regret that the apartment is not suitable for children under the age of 12 due as a precautionary measure as the apartment includes a swimming pool.
