The beautiful lakeside resort town of Menaggio is easily accessible by car and provides guests with a wide choice of amenities including supermarkets, delicatessens, bakeries, cafes, restaurants and a wide choice of high street and boutique designer clothes and jewellery shops. The town also features a very picturesque lakeside promenade which takes visitors past Gelatarias, Piazzas and the Lido di Menaggio which offers a family-friendly park which features swimming pools, beach, volley ball, cocktail lounge bar, pizzeria and more!

The sleeping accommodation is also furnished to a high standard with the master Bedroom featuring sloping beamed ceiling, lovely views, a double Bed and a single bed with lovely furnishings.
The second bedroom provides guests with two single beds and also features a charming sloping ceiling.

This apartment provides guests with a spacious and high specification bathroom for maximum comfort during your stay.

The Lombardy / Lake Como Area region

The Italian Lakes are a little slice of paradise. Elegant ribbons of blue water stretch out ahead, folded into the sun-baked foothills, with a spectacular back drop of the snow-capped Alps.

Lake Como offers hidden treasures just waiting for the visitor to discover them: charming corners forgotten by time, lakeside villages where nothing seems to have changed for centuries.

It is steeped in history with an immense collection of churches, architectural masterpieces and works of art covering the centuries. The lake is situated in a basin surrounded by wooded mountains, and offers an extremely varied landscape, with its' shores featuring a succession of pastures, and woods as well as harsh and impressive rock formations.

All this alongside elegant, lakeside villas with sub-tropical gardens, which provide a haven of peace and tranquillity and chic resorts such as Varenna, Bellagio, Menaggio and Como itself.

Warming, inspriing and graced with natural beauty, the lakes are still a place to draw breath and wonder. Lake Como, oriented north-south, ringed by characterful old villages often wedged onto
narrow beaches between rugged cliffs and water. Those classic lake images of flower strewn balconies, Baroque gardens and splendid waterside villas can be found here in abundance. Dotted around and between the lakes are some of Italy's finest art cities, such as Milan, Verona & Bergamo.

The most romantic and picturesque villages on the lake are Santa Maria Rezzonico, Varenna (15 min by ferry) & Bellagio (8 min by ferry), Lenno (visit Villa Balbianello, location for 007's Casino Royale as well as Villa Gaeta, right here in Menaggio) & Laglio (where George Clooney owns Villa Oleandra).

The Menaggio area

The beautiful lakeside resort town of Menaggio is easily accessible by car and provides guests with a wide choice of amenities including supermarkets, delicatessens, bakeries, cafes, restaurants and a wide choice of high street and boutique designer clothes and jewellery shops. The town also features a very picturesque lakeside promenade which takes visitors past Gelatarias, Piazzas and the Lido di Menaggio which offers a family-friendly park which features swimming pools, beach, volley ball, cocktail lounge bar, pizzeria and more!

From the town a regular bus service runs to Como city as well as a frequent car and passenger ferry service which allows visitors to see the other famous Golden Triangle towns of Varenna and Bellagio. Cadenabbia and Tremezzo offer many delightful cafes and bars as well as the famous Villa Carlotta and gardens. Villa Balbianello in Lenno can also be reached easily by car from Menaggio in just 15 minutes.

Golf

There are Golf clubs around Lake Como: The Cadenabbia & Menaggio Golf Club celebrating 100 years this year and is Italy's oldest golf course. Established in 1907 with 18 holes Par 70, it is located above Menaggio near Croce, in Grandola ed Uniti, approx. 20 min. by car. Tel: +39 344 321 03. Green Fees: Weekdays EU 55, Weekends and Holidays EU 70 Euros; Golf Cart Rental EU 36.
Restaurant Golf at the club serves fantastic food and is well recommended.. Guests are always welcome, please call beforehand to check course rules. Golf Club Menaggio: (Menaggio Como).

There is also a first class Golf Course at Varesse for those staying nearer to the Lake Maggorie area.

Skiing

This beautiful lake region of Italy is not the best for skiing as you may imagine, despite its scenery, crisp air and near perfect visibilty and mountains capped in winter snow. It does however have Skiing opportunities at local resorts for a day out.

There is a small ski area on Mt. Lema , not more than 10 km from Lugano, but you have to be lucky to have enough snow for skiing. In Ticino, the local Swiss Canton, the best places to ski are probably either San Bernardino (south of the pass of the same name) or Airolo (south of Gotthard pass). Both are reachable in about 1 hour by car across the Swiss border.

There are direct trains to Airolo as well from Lugano and hence from Italian Stations. To S. Bernardino there is only a bus connection. For more snow try Andermatt (on the north side of Gotthard pass) which has normally good snow conditions and a good choice of runs.

The closest major ski resort is Madesimo toward the Splugen Pass, which is approx. 1 hr 20 min. by car.

Making a Booking:

To make a confirmed booking, you will be asked to fill in our online booking form and pay a 30% deposit by wire transfer or credit card. The remaining holiday balance will then be due 6 weeks before arrival.
