'Residence Menaggio Mimosa' (ID 264) offers modern open plan studio living in light and stylish surroundings as well as a great location in Nobiallo, which is just a 2 minute's drive from the busier and very beautiful lakeside town of Menaggio.

The Italian Lakes are a little slice of paradise. Elegant ribbons of blue water stretch out ahead, folded into the sun-baked foothills, with a spectacular back drop of the snow-capped Alps.

The apartment benefits from great flexibility as a total of 4 apartments are situated in the same building, providing possibilities to accommodate a group of up to 8 guests, making it very attractive to couples travelling together or large families of different ages.

The Lombardy / Lake Como Area region

The Italian Lakes are a little slice of paradise. Elegant ribbons of blue water stretch out ahead, folded into the sun-baked foothills, with a spectacular back drop of the snow-capped Alps.

Lake Como offers hidden treasures just waiting for the visitor to discover them: charming corners forgotten by time, lakeside villages where nothing seems to have changed for centuries.

It is steeped in history with an immense collection of churches, architectural masterpieces and works of art covering the centuries. The lake is situated in a basin surrounded by wooded mountains, and offers an extremely varied landscape, with its' shores featuring a succession of pastures, and woods as well as harsh and impressive rock formations.

All this alongside elegant, lakeside villas with sub-tropical gardens, which provide a haven of peace and tranquillity and chic resorts such as Varenna, Bellagio, Menaggio and Como itself.

Warming, inspriing and graced with natural beauty, the lakes are still a place to draw breath and wonder. Lake Como, oriented north-south, ringed by characterful old villages often wedged onto
narrow beaches between rugged cliffs and water. Those classic lake images of flower strewn balconies, Baroque gardens and splendid waterside villas can be found here in abundance. Dotted around and between the lakes are some of Italy's finest art cities, such as Milan, Verona & Bergamo.

The most romantic and picturesque villages on the lake are Santa Maria Rezzonico, Varenna (15 min by ferry) & Bellagio (8 min by ferry), Lenno (visit Villa Balbianello, location for 007's Casino Royale as well as Villa Gaeta, right here in Menaggio) & Laglio (where George Clooney owns Villa Oleandra).

The Menaggio area

Menaggio is a picturesque village nestled in a convenient central position on the lake. It is a historical lake side town with many quaint neighbourhoods which extend north along the lake and up into the green hills and valleys. Menaggio offers stunningly beautiful views of Lake Como and the majestic mountains which surround it overlooked by the Alps to the North.

There is a fine selection of restaurants, delis, fresh grocers and of course delicious gelato and pizza! To keep you moving and fit while on vacation: play a round of golf at the infamous Menaggio & Cadenabbia Golf Club, mini golf, hiking trails, mountain biking, free climbing, swimming and a new orienteering field all located in stunning locations -these are just a few possibilities offered to you in and around Menaggio. There is a museum dedicated to Leonardo da Vinci at the new “Lido Giardino” and in the Val Senagra Park, a museum featuring the value of antique buildings, artisan and peasant objects and creations. Other culturally rich events including music, fireworks, public markets and local festivals are to be enjoyed.

Menaggio’s tourist office www.menaggio.com, situated in the main square, Piazza Garibaldi, offers a great deal of information detailing what’s going on in and around the lakes, sightseeing, history and sporting activities.

During the summer the area boasts fantastic opportunities for many activities including mountain biking, cycling, horse riding, walking, many water sports including kite surfing, fishing, tennis, and of course golf at the historic Mennagio & Cadenabbia Golf Club www.menaggio.it.The Ferries run from Menaggio to both the North and South of Lake Come making it an ideal centre for sightseeing. The lovely lakeside and harbour have many cafes where you can sit and relax while watch the world go by.

Outdoor activities abound in this area and are very popular with holiday makers. An18 hole golf course, mountain biking, water skiing and lots of other sports are all here to be enjoyed by you and your family.

The position of this apartment makes it ideal for exploring the Lakeside towns and attractions; Menaggio being just a 2 minute’s drive away and offering a wide variety of shops, cafes and restaurants as well as a public Lido Swimming pool with Beach, children’s park, mini golf, the world famous Menaggio & Cadenabbia Golf Course, Tennis courts in nearby Loveno and a fast a frequent Ferry service. The bars and cafes leisurely await you in Tremezzo and Villa Carlotta and Villa Balbianello await your exploration, being just an 8 minute’s drive away!

“Brilliant apartment, quiet neighbourhood, gorgeous views.” We were very impressed with the pre holiday information provided by the apartment management company. Lots of tips, ideas and pointers. Their arrival guides contain photos to help you get keys, find the apartment and figure out how to use things. A great idea! The facilities are ideal for a short or long trip. It is fairly compact but feels spacious, light and modern. The company even left a bottle of Prosecco to welcome us which was a lovely addition! The apartment itself is well stocked for a couple although in an ideal world we would have liked a few basics in the kitchen such as cooking oil, pepper etc. The management company did respond when we asked about this. The balcony and double doors in the bedroom give the opportunity to have spectacular views! It was the highlight! The bed was set up as a double but was two single matresses. It was still comfortable enough with plenty of extra sheets, pillows etc. Menaggio seems to gets sunshine in the morning and all day but is in the shade in the evenings. This means it can be slightly chillier if you want to sit outside on the balcony but the drop in temperature at night definitely helped with sleep! The location of the apartment means very little traffic goes past which is ideal. Other resorts along the lake have busy roads running right outside the window of the apartments. There is a road right outside but the bypass round the town means very little actually goes past. It is roughly 10 minute brisk walk into Mennagio itself so you do have to factor this in if you are going out for dinner or walking to the boat terminal. The supermarket is not far and it was certainly easy to get our bearings. Free parking was located right outside which was a bonus if you do have a car! We would happily go back to this apartment and have already recommended to friends!

Making a Booking:

To make a confirmed booking, you will be asked to fill in our online booking form and pay a 30% deposit by wire transfer or credit card. The remaining holiday balance will then be due 6 weeks before arrival.
