The Old Dairy is an attractive sandstone cottage situated in the conservation village of Darnick adjoining Melrose and with views to the beautiful Eildon Hills within easy walking distance of the centre of Melrose. Awarded 4 stars by the Scottish Tourist Board and dating back to the early nineteenth century this listed former dairy has been converted to a very high standard.Tastefully furnished mainly with antiques - large sitting room with log burning stove, fully fitted dining kitchen, king-sized bed and twin-bedded bedrooms, two luxury bath/shower rooms and large integral garage.
Melrose is a superb base both for the sightseer and the sportsminded. In and around Melrose there is a wonderful range of abbeys ,castles, stately homes and gardens to explore as well as top class fishing,golf,tennis,cycling,mountain biking and walking.With more than 1500 miles of dedicated walking routes in spectacular countryside including St Cuthberts Way, the Southern Upland Way, and the Border Abbeys Walk-walking here is excellent at any time of year. Melrose itself has some of the best eating houses in the Borders a wide variety of individual shops and beautiful gardens. Situated at the foot of the Eildon Hills in the Tweed Valley Melrose is widely considered as the jewel of the Borders.
