Melrose

The ancient and historic town of Melrose would make a great base for any holiday in the Scottish Borders with its ruined abbey founded in 1136 and the other Border abbeys situated in Kelso Jedburgh and Dryburgh forming the Four Abbeys cycle route and walk .

With The Eildon hills looking down on the town inviting you to take a hearty walk and with the Southern Upland Way passing close by . St Cuthberts Way starting at the Abbey and many other local walks there's plenty to keep you active.

When theres shopping to be done the small individual shops of Melrose are on your doorstep, as are the local restaurants and bars everything is just minutes walk from the house.

Parkveiw looks onto Gibson park were the are two well equipped play parks for the kids and a well struck serve will take you to the 3 all weather floodlit tennis courts 40m away.

The Greenyards home of M.R.F.C and founders of seven a side rugby is just a punt across the road

The Wynd theatre has productions on most weeks and there is a four screen cinema in nearby Galashiels showing all the latest movies.

Galashiels is also where you'll find a Marks and Spencer food hall, Tesco + Asda 24hr and some high street chains and a Poundland for the kids!

If you want to visit Scotland's capital city, Edinburgh is less than an hours drive away, and the beautiful Norththumberland coast with it's stunning castles just over an hours drive.

"Excellent house in Melrose"

My wife and I had an excellent week in this well furnished, comfortable, immaculately clean house, close to the centre of Melrose. The rear of the property overlooks a park and it is a short walk to local shops etc.
We played golf (badly) at Coldstream, Torwoodlee, Minto and Peebles.
Recommended.

"Fantastic"

Parkview is an excellent self catering property. As it implies it is close, in fact backs onto the park - loads to do for small children and teenagers in and around the park - flood light tennis - great looking play park and of course rugby pitch behind. The house itself was of a very high standard, was incredibly clean and was equipped very well. Walking distance to all of Melrose's attractions including a lovely walk along the tweed - couple of nice restaurants across the bridge in Gattonside. Took the bus into Galashields and went to the cinema - longer journey's also easy right from the door step. All in all we were very impressed and will definitely go back.

Thanks for your review .Its great to hear you really enjoyed your week in Melrose and we look forward to welcoming you back in the future.

"Ideal place for a relaxing week"

The house was clean, modern and very comfortable. Melrose itself is a lovely, self-contained little town, with plenty to do locally as well as being a good base for touring the Borders.

"FIRST CLASS ACCOMMODATION"

Stayed for a week in early August.Excellent accommodation, park is next door which was great as we had two young children to entertain.Three minute walk to Melrose High Street
which has a very good range of shops for everyday needs. Also plenty of hotels and eateries if you don`t fancy cooking. Parkview is modern, clean and very comfortable. It has been renovated in recent times and the kitchen and bathrooms are excellent ,bedrooms
very comfortably furnished with good quality bed linen.A great supply of fresh towels was provided.A lot of thought has gone into the accommodation and Kevin deserves an accolade for the attention to detail in a property that wants for nothing. The decoration is neutral and fresh throughout and all the fixtures and fittings are of a very good quality. The website is accurate.Great base for visting nearby Border attractions including Melrose Abbey.Would certainly stay again .
