The Island of Malta region
Malta is ideal for everyone as the island has a lot of history and very nice beaches for everyone to relax. For the history lovers Valletta is the ideal place as buildings , Museums and the new art centre are a must to visit. For the nightlife Bugibba and Paceville are awake 24 hours a day. Relaxing by the beach and in the hot sun can be total relaxation for the visitor in general.
Santa Maria Estate is the most Exclusive place in the whole island. You cam compare to the exclusive Bel Air in Los Angeles. Villas are all secluded from each other and Mature gardens makes this place unique in Malta. Besides all this the main Shopping area is only a 10 minute walk away. Mellieha bay is also very near only 10 minutes by walk.

There was always hot water after for the showers. The beds were very comfortable . We didn't hire a car but it advisable if your not good walkers Saviour arrange transport from the airport

"Another enjoyable stay at Pollyana"
For a second year we have enjoyed a 2 weeks stay at Pollyana. The standard of the villa remains very high, cleaned to a very good standard on arrival. The pool area is outstanding which is what you want when you are spending the majority of your holiday time outside. As usual Saviour the owner, was very accommodating, but always unobtrusive. The pool was kept spotlessly clean on a daily basis by Saviour's assistant who appeared to take great pride in keeping the whole pool area very clean. Would again highly recommend the villa.
Thank you very much for your review. Hearing excellent comments from repeated guests is highly appreciated! Hope to see you again very soon

"Couldn't ask for much more!"
We stayed here early July 2014 and had a wonderful time. We were greeted at the airport by the villas owner who gave us great tips and a trip to the supermarket on the way to the accommodation. On our arrival our faces all lit up when we saw the pool we would have to ourselves for the remainder of the stay! The villa itself was perfect and comfortable for our family of four but could easily accommodate more. We particularly loved the homely feel of the place and the outdoor barbecue area! Along with the villa we rented a car from the owners which took us on our tours around the island after which we concluded that there is no greater location to stay than the beautiful village of Mellieha itself!
thank you again for staying with us and for your wonderful comments. we hope to see you again very soon

"Not quite what we were expecting!"
We had booked the townhouse in Qormi but , only a week before our trip, the owner e-mailed to say there were problems with the property and he would let us have this "villa" in stead and at no extra cost. We had little choice but to accept at such short notice and problems do occur and although the location was not where we wanted to be we decided to travel.I do not want to go into great detail about this property but it is not a stand alone villa, just a strange assortment of interlinking rooms centered around a huge snooker table. This meant we could clearly hear the other occupants of the other "villas" even when they went to the toilet in the night and were up early in the morning The TV, video and DVD player and sofa are in the large bedroom and the shower room in there is just separated from the rest of the room by a wall that does not go to the ceiling so all the condensation and "aromas" go directly into the bedroom. Also it is not a suitable property, in our opinion, for a winter let due to the levels of damp this property suffers from with condensation and after a heavy storm, a leak in the ceiling. There were patches of damp and mould everywhere and all the bedding was damp as were all our clothes. We were offered no form of external heating although we saw gas heaters but decided they would only add to the level of damp if used. We decided not to speak to Mr. Vella about these issues as there was little he could do and we did not want to move again but feel he should have been aware and up-front with us. He also queried what we did pay but as I always print out all e-mails to confirm the amount, he never said anything about this again. I expect this property is great in the summer when the outside areas and views are lovely and indoor sitting space is not needed but it is not a winter let. Mr Vella also arranged our transfers and hire car and this was all fine and at a good price. If you reqire any further info re this property please contact me directly.
I have offered this much larger property at no extra cost as you said! This property costs more than double you paid for and you complain!! I was aware you were going to complain as i was warned by one of the party members that you are very hard to please! Complaining after you leave is complete cowardness! Complaining about condensation and damp when the weather in Malta was 21 degrees and the weather was changing is complete nonsense! Malta Is very humid so what you expect? If you wanted good weather you should have come in August or September at least. But off course you had a low budget and you only could afford a holiday in last week of November! I am deeply disappointed and hurt with your comments after you yourself admitted that you were lucky to have such a large property with private pool at a fraction of the cost when you were leaving to the airport. We chatted for about half an hour just before you left and not one bad comment was mentioned for the property!

"The perfect base to explore Malta. With a massive pool."
This is a luxury villa bang in the centre of Mellieha Heights, one of the most upmarket locations in the whole of Malta. There's no traffic, no noise, no crowds, no dirt, just dozens of plush, decorative houses in a maze of interweaving streets lined with beautiful native stone. The quality of the villa was just outstanding. It is fully furnished and the beds were well-made and comfortable. There are pretty little trinkets everywhere. For the two of us, striding down a long corridor into the master bedroom, we felt like we'd walked into a palace. We went in the dead peak of July so of course there were a few insects here and there but nothing we and a bottle of Baygon couldn't handle. Just don't leave your rubbish lying around and keep all the doors closed and you'll be fine. I don't agree with any of the criticisms the other reviewer put about lack of space. The kitchen table is huge and right by the front door, and if that's not enough there's a whole table out by the pool area that seats four which we enjoyed a romantic pizza over. The views from the pool area are nothing short of spectacular - you can see right across the whole bay and if you look in the right direction you can see all three islands in one shot. One thing I'll say that made this stay stand out from all the other holidays we've ever been on: the couple who own this joint were the most wonderful people we could have ever hoped to stay with. They bent over backwards to make sure we had everything we needed. Mrs Vella even drove us to the shops when we arrived so we could pick up some essentials from the supermarket. They live in the bordering apartment so any problems you have they're right there. But to be honest we had no problems and they just left us to it. After settling in on Day 1 we realised that from here you can take a day trip to pretty much anywhere in the north of Malta and far beyond. Day 2 we went to the bay. The quality of the beach here is superb. You don't have to go to the crowded beach area with all the deckchairs and umbrellas to enjoy swimming here: there's a big concrete walkway down one side that you can just chuck your beach stuff on and jump in from there. Day 3 we took a boat ride. We went with Oh Yeah Tours. Probably our highlight of the entire trip. For just 12€ each, they take you around Comino, skirt past the northern island of Gozo and then stop at the Blue Lagoon for three hours where you can jump off the boat and swim in clear blue water without a care in the world. A snack bar and endless supply of beer on board the boat. It is basically paradise. Book at least a day in advance to guarantee yourself a spot. Day 4 we rested. Day 5 we went to Golden Bay, a very nice beach on the west coast. Day 6 we went to Gozo Island. Upon arrival at the Cirkewwa ferry terminal, some guy from Malta Sightseeing Tours offered us half price tickets for a bus trip around all the major sights (hop on/hop off). Highly recommended, as there was no way we would have covered all of the best bits of Gozo ourselves in just a day. The Azure Window rock formation was definitely worth hopping off for. Convenience: We did the whole holiday without a hire car. We would probably advise getting one if you have a family. For couples who want to wing it without one, it's very doable. Malta's bus network connects everywhere and it is incredible value (12€ for a week) - but it's a reasonable walk away from the villa to the nearest frequent stop. The "hourly" 101 service down the road which we tried to use to get to Golden Bay never showed up for us so don't even go there (we went via Bugibba instead). If you want to go to the bay, go down the steps and just walk down from there, then there's a whole heap of services coming back up the hill when you're done. If you want to go to central Mellieha, there's an alley that cuts through just up the road, walk up there and you're 2 streets away. From there you can get a bus anywhere. All-in-all, excellent place to stay, highly recommended!

"Cant wait to go back!"
The property was far bigger then we expected, the photos don't do it justice. Saviour and Pauline were amazing. They live above the property, but never intrude on your privacy. If you have even the slightest problem they are there straight away to make sure your stay is perfect. The pool was great and the little top pool was the perfect depth for our 18 month old son. Fredrick did a great job every morning cleaning the pool and outside area. The view was fantastic across the sea to Gozo. The town was good with a good supermarket and several good fine dining restaurants that you can get a fantastic meal plus drinks for around 50 euros. Local people were very friendly and very helpful. I would recommend hiring a car to get the most of the island. This was the first holiday we had that felt like home and we were sad to have to come home. We cant wait to come back next year.

"NICE VILLA WITH BIG SWIMMING POOL"
The owner is very helpful. We asked for extra towels and for an extra small table. We got them in a few hours. The owner is living in the villa on top of this villa. So you can contact him very easy, but he respects your privacy . When you arrive, there is no food , no herbs, no drinks in the villa (only some toiletpaper) but the shop is nearby. The swimming pool is very clean. There is a big terrace with lots of sunshine and also a place to sit in the shade. You can enjoy the great views from the terrace. We had a very nice holiday!

"Lack of Living space a disappointment"
I found the villa clean, but it did have cockroaches and there were ants all over the kitchen area. the lack of living space was a problem for us, as you had to do everything sitting at the dining room table, and the chairs were quite uncomfortable. There was a lack of brochures on "what to do in the area". For us, the snooker table, whilst very nice was impractical, as it was in the only area of the villa which could have been used a "living space". There were no basics when we got there, we had to go shopping straight away for toilet paper. If you use this villa, take some with you. Kitchen utensils were adequate, although the pans could have a better variety in there size, two really big pans and 3 frying pans is not really good enough for a family. The ensuite in the big bedroom is very small. The pool was cleaned regularly.
Hello Lyn, I expected a better review from you after all that i have done for you! You know that you stayed an extra night without paying for it! I was mislead because you have always asked for accomodation from the 1st till the 11th October,However since you came at 3 am on the 1st October you should have made your booking from the 30th September. As you said the Villa was found clean but at the same time you said that there were ants? Could it be that you left the insect screens open? As you know our property is surrounded by garden and ants / insects can easily get in if insect screens are left open! As you said the snooker table is very nice , unfortunately you did not pay for this excellent option we have,so for you this was a wasted space! I am sure other guests felt the opposite! Surprised that you mention certain things only now! I was all the time with you when you were waiting for the taxi to take you back to the airport and all you said was "What a fantastic time we had staying in this beautiful place"! When i go on holiday if there is something wrong i speak to the person in charge at that moment and not 10 days after i leave!
