The Island of Malta region
Every weekend, from June to September, "festi" are part and parcel of the Maltese Summer. A great deal of planning and preparation goes into making the festa an event the entire village is proud of. The celebrations are a superb spectacle of colour and life. Later on comes the highlight of the evening - a superb firework display, which creates a magical extravaganza. The local Village festa of The Nativity of Our Lady is on the 8 September. The feast is a national public holiday.
Mellieha / Santa Maria Estate area
The northern villages all have lovely views. They have open land and rocky stretches between them. The centre of Mellieha dates back to medieval times when pilgrims came to the chapel which is underground and is hewn out of the rocks. The area is dominated by the Sanctuary, where the pilgrims lodged and the Church of Our Lady of Mellieha. The terrace round the church again command splendid views.Go for a walk to the Red Tower and again be stunned by the scenery. It is unobstructed, with views of Gozo, Comino and Ghadira ( Mellieha Bay ). In the village of Mellieha one can find many bars, restaurants and cafes .The most popular bay on the island is Mellieha Bay. Its shallow waters and the extensive sand make the beach suitable for families with children.Villa Aurora is close ( 2 mins by car) to all amenities including bars, restaurants, supermarkets, green-grocer, pharmacy, fish-monger, stationery, bakeries etc....

Our guests will rest well in this 4 bedroom villa, all with their respective shower/bathroom, A/C, telephone and safe. The villa offers 42" TV, digital cable TV, DVD player, high speed internet connection, telephone system, fax, library and a fully equipped kitchen (A/C, washing machine, dishwasher and microwave etc). The villa has an alarm system and auto-matic gate and garage door. For the comfort of our guests we now have a TFT TV in each bedroom suite with more than 80 channels of cable TV.
Extensive balconies enable one to enjoy the morning sunrise. The outdoor area is private with a barbecue area, dining and sitting spaces for great entertaining and a 45 sq.m. pool including a relaxing sun patio which affords you to enjoy the best of both worlds - basking in the sun or resting in the shade. We also have a well equipped games room at basement level including pool-table, table-soccer, table-tennis and air-hockey.
