"Great place for your holidays!"
I've just got back from my one week holidays with my daughter, mum and sister. We all loved the apartment and I wish we could have stayed a little bit longer. The apartment is in a really good location, close to local shops, transport etc. You have to walk around 15 min to the beach but there are local buses every few minutes so this in not an issue. I would recommend Mellieha heights to anyone as we had a really great time.

"Very Basic and slightly disappointed"
I stayed in this apartment with my wife and 2 children in august 2012. On arrival i met the guy paul at the airport who i must say was a really nice guy.After collecting my hire car i followed paul to the apartment and was shocked when asked to pay him 30 euro for the transfer.I phoned the letting agent and was told that this was a mistake and money would be refunded. I was very disappointed on arrival that although the apartment was self catering i would have thought you would have at least had a complementry bottle of water in the fridge or at least some t bags and milk to make a cuppa but nothing. I was also shocked to see that there was a considerable amount of mould around the rubber of the fridge that i cleaned myself and the freezer shelves were full of ice so you could not put frozen food in to it even if you wanted to. After looking around for the washing machine we soon discovered that this was on the roof area and not located in the apartment as first thought but this was not a major problem. Be prepared to be woken early if sleeping in the double room as although you have the windows closed you can still hear constant traffic up and down the road from about 5am and it is very hard to sleep after being woken. Please also be aware that there are no designated parking area for this property and i found myself driving around for 5-10min trying to find a good parking spot which in the heat i did not enjoy. The most disappointing aspect of this appartment was being told that the bed linen and towels would be changed half way through the holiday but NO we had the same bed linen and towels for the 2 weeks stay so we was not happy. Please also be aware that if you want great ariel views from this apartment then this is not for you as you look out at other buildings at the front and old garden foliage at the back.
Being also a consumer, I believe that it is a consumer's right to complain about a service or product as long as the consumer is being completely sincere and honest about the said service or product. The reviewer, Paul Newman or his Maltese wife Georgina, omitted to mention that the transfer service was offered on a complimentary basis owing to the length of their stay. Although Paul ( the driver ) erroneously charged them Euro 30 for the trip to Mellieha, the said sum was refunded even though the review made no mention that the charge was actually refunded. In fact, on the following morning of their arrival ( Friday 17th August ), I was notified by the driver about the charge and I immediately took the initiative to phone the Newman's to inform them that this was a mistake on the part of the driver. The money was refunded within a few days of their arrival - this was not mentioned in the reviewer’s complaint. The reviewer in his complaint states that he "phoned the letting agent". This is also misleading on two counts. Firstly, we are the owners of the apartment and not letting agents ( and the Newman's are well aware of this ). Secondly, it was the undersigned who took the initiative to phone. In fact, I spoke to Georgina ( who informed me that her husband Paul was unavailable as he was in the shower ). I informed her that the taxi charge was a genuine mistake on the part of the driver and Georgina then complained that there was no bottled water in the apartment. I explained that the apartment is self catering ( the arrival was only at 4.00pm and there was ample time to buy some groceries). In our brief conversation, no mention was made about the 'mould' around the rubber of the fridge and although I cannot really comment on this ( since this point was not brought up in our brief discussion ), I have never had a complaint on the cleanliness of our apartments. Regarding the change of linen and towels, the reviewer is absolutely correct to say that there was not a change of linen and towels. This skipped our mind entirely and for which we apologise. We would have appreciated it, if the reviewer reminded us mid way through the fortnight rental. This entirely skipped our mind as normally linen and towels are changed mid way though a fortnight rental. The comment about the constant traffic is, however, misleading and unfair. The apartment is in a very quiet road ( as all our guests can vouch ) even if the apartment is being depicted as though it is on a highway or alongside a railway station. Possibly cars pass by the road at 5.00am but I wonder how many cars are on the street at that time. We never advertised that there is a designated space for parking but that there is unmetered parking on the street leading to the apartment and nor have we advertised that the apartment has the views depicted in the complaint. All in all, it is not morally correct to vilify the apartment and the efforts of people who give a good service. It is duty of the consumer to be correct, truthful and honest in his or her remarks without misleading other people on such a powerful means as is Trip Advisor. Prior to putting pen to paper, it would only be morally appropriate not to mislead readers and to state facts correctly ( spelt correctly and the correct use of grammar would also be a plus ). Graham

"A beautiful hidden gem of an apartment in a wonderful part of Malta!"
My friends and I stayed in this apartment for 5 days in September. The apartment is newly renovated and furnished, and comes with all modern conveniences such as fridge, oven, crockery and (should you need it), washing machine. The apartment is spacious and clean and in a great location. It is situated in a beautiful street amongst a lot of traditional Maltese buildings, and only a 5 minute walk from some wonderful restaurants and bars, as well as supermarket, bakers and other shops. The beach is a lovely, scenic 15 minute walk, there are also regular buses at the end of the road which take only 5 minutes to the beach (we used these at the end of the day when we were tired from resting at the beach all day!). I would not hesitate to recommend this apartment as a lovely base for a relaxing and enjoyable holiday. The owners were more than accomodating with our requests and even kindly provided airport transfers for us.
