La Cachette is located in the peaceful hamlet of Les Combes, in the village of Paizay-le-Tort, surrounded by beautiful countryside & lovely sunflowers, Set in peaceful and tranquil gardens,the cottage is newly renovated although retaining many of its original features . After a relaxing swim in the pool you might like to take a short drive to local restaurant for some real Frnch cuisine, or maybe you would prefer to dine Al fresco in La Cachettes gardens. The nearest town is closeby (4km) and boasts a typical french market on fridays.There are many tourist sites set within beautiful countrysidewell worth a visit.

The cottage has been sympathetically renovated, and consists of a large south facing open plan lounge, dining & kitchen area which is fully equipped with modern appliances, there is a large shower room with toilet down stairs.
Upstairs are two large bedrooms fully equipped to ensure a comfortable stay and a mezzanine hall.

The private 1.5 acre garden is landscaped and we have many areas of seating and picnic tables. There are many mature trees , excellent for shade in the very hot summer sun. We invite you to help yourself to any fruit that is in season, cherries, pears , apples, plums,figs, peaches, walnuts,hazelnuts.Fresh chicken & duck eggs are available upon request.
The swimming pool is shared with the owners and is above ground ( 7.5 x 4) and 1m in depth ,
Sun loungers and tables are provided, for your use in the garden and around the pool.
also available are tennis rackets, boules , and many other outdoor games.

25% of the rental fee is apyable at time of booking with the balance being payable 8 prior to commencement of holiday.
In addition a breakages deposit of £150 is required when final payment is made , this deposit is refunded within1 week of your departure 5subject to inspection of the property)
** The pool will not be opened until May and closed in October - weather permitting

Poitou Charentes is a fantastic place to visit for all ages,from walking in the peacefull countryside to high tech theme parks (Futuroscope 45 min drive ) La Rochelle Aquarium, Vallee De Singes, (monkey world) Naltulas (water park ) Oradour (village Martyr) Chateaux ( Various) Wildlife parks in wonderful settings.
Golf is available (30min drive) Maris potevin (Green Venice) is approx 45 min drive, relax and enjoy the boat ride around the canals. or head for Cognac and the famous Brandy distilleries of Hennessy, Remy martin and Martell( English speaking guided tours)
Miles of fantastic Atlantic coastline beckon for those who love the sand between their toes and the sea breeze cooling you, beautiful villages, markets and friendly locals make this a truly memorable and special place to relax and unwind.
The Melle / Paizay-le-Tort area
The Romanesque town of Melle , has something for everyone, a few shops and street cafès, during the summer there are concerts & music festivalsin the evenings,
There is a weekly market in Melle and also a larger one in Lezay where everything is typically french, sample a morning coffee or glass of wine and take in the atmosphere, chickens , ducks & goats to buy or just enjoy the fresh produce, (fish, fruit, veg and much more)
The activity park of " Lambon" offers a beach swimming, boating, fishing, restaurants, picnic and play areas . This is approx 20 min drive from the cottage.
Local restaurants & Bar just a short drive from the the cottage ,Within 40mindrive you can visit the famous Brandy making region of Cognac, or the wine region of Bordeaux (2hrs drive)
Paizay-le-tort has a playing field for football, Tennis courts and activity course for you to enjoy .
