About the home

This luxury two bedroom penthouse is both air conditioned and heated, so come before, during and after the main season in equal comfort. Entertainment facilities include TV and DVD, CD and MP3 players.

After a hard day's sunbathing, sightseeing, or sampling the many facilities of the local hotels, relax on the balcony. Watch the stunning view of the sun setting over the Adriatic with a cool drink in your hand, before strolling to the local restaurants for a great meal, or sampling the local night life in the resort.
Why not visit in the Spring or early Summer, explore the medieval hilltop towns of istria, or discover the wildflowers and orchids on the Kamenjak Peninsula during May and June. Autumn is also lovely, the sea is warm and istria is relaxed and beautiful.

The apartment is on the top level of this small block. The living/kitchen facilities are open plan, off which is access to the main bedroom (1 double bed, wardrobe, chest of drawers with mirror over), the bathroom (shower, WC, wash-basin, and hairdrier), mezzanine bedroom (2 single beds, wardrobes etc), kitchen (combo-microwave, large fridge-freezer, hob, kettle) and balcony (table, chairs and sun-shade).

The apartments are approximately 300 - 500 meters away from the 3 main resort hotels. These hotels have great facilities including pools, tennis courts, bars, restaurants, etc . Horse riding, bike hire, scuba diving, truffle hunts, etc are available in the main season (June to August).

A second identical adjacent apartment may be available if this one shows as booked, or if a larger party needs to be catered for.

The second bedroom is on a mezzanie level with lower than average ceiling heights, and steep stairs, making it unsuitable for the very tall, very young, or those with restricted agility. For this reason it has been priced as a one bedroom apartment. Thus the good news is that two people go free!

The Istria region

The Istria peninsular has often been called the "Tuscany" of Croatia. The area is steeped in history, with Pula having a large Roman Amphitheatre, Forum, and cobbled pedestrian shopping alleys and market. All over the area are ancient picuresque hill-top villages. Vineyards abound, and the local wine is very drinkable, and complements the excellent local food (Naturally fish tends to be a speciality, but the steaks are just as good!) The bulk of holiday makers tend to be Italians and Germans, although English is widely understood in the main centres; so if you want to get away from the crush of English tourists, this is the place!

The Medulin area

Medulin itself, some 10k from Pula, is an old village on a small hill, dropping down to the modern harbour and resort area, with great restaurants, bars and clubs. The sea here is clear and blue but the beaches tend to be rocky. Small ferries run to the islands dotted offshore which have good quality beaches, and some of them have restaurants too.

RyanAir and several other holiday airlines fly direct to Pula (RyanAir on a Tuesday and Thursday at the moment). A hire car is highly recomended to enable you to visit the wonderful Istrian countryside with it's historic hilltop towns. You can also fly into Trieste in Italy, or Rejika in Croatia, with an approximate 2 hour drive to Medulin. (Slovinia have just imposed a type of transit tax per car of about, I think £35, so factor this in when deciding)
Alternatively, for a more adventurous journey, fly to Venice, and get a ferry from there to Pula! (summer season only)

“Laid back & low cost with lots to do” Nice AC apartment suitable for family with 2 kids, but bit of a squash for 4 adults. Medulin is very laid back and cheap to eat out. Lots to do and see if you hire a car and enjoy exploring dirt roads. Try Levan island, Premantutura nature reserve, or Kavran creek to get away from the crowds. Trips to Pulla and Rovij are a must. Pulla airport quite close if you fly direct. Beware of mosquitoes.
