The Costa Calida/Murcia region
The Costa Calida still retains a very Spanish way of life and the local area of Mazarron is blessed with a 35km coastline which is a wide-open bay on the Mediterranean. It has 300 days of sunshine per year and the climate is one of the very best in Spain with the Mazarron area being voted the most healthiest region on the mainland.
Puerto de Mazarron is a 10-15 minute drive away and benefits from a spectacular marina with around 200 moorings, together with a large selection of beach front bars and restaurants.
Besides the towns of Mazarron & Puerto de Mazarron, the village of Bolnuevo is some 5-10 minutes away and has some fantastic rock formations naturally formed over the years.
For those of us who love to shop and enjoy the taste of the city life you can visit the nearby cities of Murcia and Cartegena which are full of cultural sites and modern shops.
Costa Calida has a vast array of golf courses and sports facilities. The most famous being ¨La Manga Club¨. For the keen golfers this is the region to visit and play a round of golf.
Mazarron / Mazarron Country Club area
Casa Esma is located on the Mazarron Country Club which is situated just off the RM3 outside the town of Mazarron. The development is well maintained with a mixture of permanent residents and holiday homes. There is a beautiful tropical communal pool which opens in the summer months together with tennis courts, petanque pitches and a taverna serving "no frills" tasty food all year round.
The nearest supermarket is a 5 minute drive away further along the RM3 and the towns of Mazarron and Puerto de Mazarron offer a variety of shops, bars and restaurants and a spectacular marina. There is also an open air market held in Mazarron every Saturday and in the Port on a Sunday.
The area also has an abundance of wonderful beaches and beautiful walks or cycles.
How to get there
Several airlines including the budget ones Ryanair and Easyjet all fly to airports offering easy access to Mazarron Country Club. The nearest airport is Murcia (San Javier) which is a 45 minute drive away via the new toll motorway (AP7), followed by Alicante just over an hour away and Almeria an hour and 15 minutes away.
There are a variety of car hire companies all operating from these airports and you can collect at one and return to another if you wish. Details can be provided on request.
