About the home

Two bedroom bungalow, sleeping up to 4 (plus baby with a cot provided) at the Mazarron Country Club on the Costa Calida, 10 minutes from the unspoilt sandy beaches of Puerto de Mazarron and Bolneuvo. The bungalow is less than a couple of minutes walk from the tropical style pool, children’s pool and pool bar. Next to this there are tennis courts, petanque pitches (Spanish bowls) and a bar/restaurant, which serves full meals and tapas.

Complete with a jacuzzi on a private walled terrace, our bungalow is the ideal place for you to enjoy a peaceful and relaxing holiday.

There is one double bedroom, a twin bedroom and a shower room. The living/dining area is comfortably furnished with a leather corner sofa, cable television, DVD player, radio/CD player and air conditioning. The kitchen is fitted out with an oven, ceramic hob, extractor fan, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, microwave, kettle, toaster and iron, whilst outside on the rear patio there is a washing machine. There are ceiling fans and freestanding fans throughout, plus heaters for the winter.

On the rear patio there is a jacuzzi, patio furniture and washing machine, there is a table and chairs and sun loungers on the front terrace.

Included will be all bedlinen, towels (not pool/beach towels), gas and electricity.

At present, the swimming pool is only open during the peak Summer months and has an entry fee to help cover the running/lifeguard costs. As at Summer 2012 this was €4 adult/€2 child for all day .

The Costa Calida region

The Mazarron coast forms part of the Costa Calida (the warm coast) and is an area not yet discovered by mass tourism. If you like the bright lights of Benidorm then Mazarron is not for you!

There are numerous sandy beaches, including two near the port - Bahía and Bolnuevo. There are mountains all around, some go right out to the coast providing spectacular breathtaking views along the coast line.

The sea is usually around 5º warmer due to the unique 'micro climate' that Mazarron enjoys. Because of this, Sub Aqua diving is possible all year round. The water is usually clear and the depth of visibility in many places is often around 25 - 30 metres.

The Mazarron / Mazarron Country Club area

Mazarron Country Club is situated just north of the town of Mazarron and 10 minutes' inland from the Costa Calida. There are several blue flag beaches in the area, the closest being at Bolneuvo, approx 6 kms and less than a ten minute drive away. Just up the coast is Puerto de Mazarron, with its long promenade of cafes, restaurants and bars overlooking the sea. There are a variety of walks in the region to suit all abilities or just relax in the local hot springs (10 mins by car).

30 minutes by car is Cartagena, a cosmopolitan yet historic city which has beautiful architecture, a large port, Naval Museum and extensive shopping (El Corte Ingles, Zara, Mango etc).

The on-site golf course is currently under construction, but the nearest is situated at Camposol, which is a 9 hole course and only a 5 minute drive away. There are many other courses within driving distance, the closest being the Jack Nicklaus designed course at Condado de Alhama, Fuenta Alamo, Torre Pacheco and, of course, the famous courses at La Manga, which are to the east. Further down the coast there are other courses at Valle de Este Golf Resort, Desert Springs and Marina Golf, Mojacar. Many of the budget charter and also scheduled airlines fly into the two international airports at Alicante and Murcia San Javier. Murcia's San Javier Airport is less than an hour from Mazarron Country Club, whilst Alicante is an easy one and a quarter hour motorway journey away. An alternative to these two is Almeria, which is approx 1 hour and three quarters easy drive up the motorway.

“Superb facilities, excellent location, all you need for a great holiday.” A big thanks to Mark and Jane for letting our extended family stay in their bungalow. We had a wonderful holiday with 3 generations of family from 3 months to OAP!! The bungalow is very well equipped, comfortable beds and the new air conditioning was very efficient even at 42 degrees. We enjoyed our stay as there is so much to do nearby and yet so peaceful when you just want to relax.

“Great villa, great holiday!!!” We would like to say big thank you to Jane and Mark for a great holiday we had!!! The bungalow is in a really nice location, surounded by the beautiful views of the mountains. Jacuzzi was a real treat! We've enjoyed every minute of our stay! Car is recommended. “Delightful bungalow, beautiful country club, area a delight” The bungalow was delightful and had everything we needed for our two week stay. The country club is a real gem - absolutely beautiful, peaceful and has a fabulous swimming pool with pool bar, along with tennis courts and a bar/restaurant if you dont want to travel in the evening, which serves good food. Supermarkets are up the motorway(inland) about 5/10 mins drive and the beaches are down the motorway about 10mins drive. Further afield is Cartagena which is a lovely city and has to be visited. Towards Javia is La Manga which is a must see place - huge saltwater lake with white sand beaches and extremely warm water - gorgeous. Will definitely keep this address in my book for future holidays.

“Very good property, excellent location close to the pool” Stayed for 2 weeks on a last minute kind of thing and Mark managed to arrange things despite the short notice. The apartment was excellent for our needs having 2 young children and a one year old. Close to the pool which was great for the children. Needed a car to be able to explore and to get to the local supermarket but the that is half the fun of being abroad. The apartment itself was very clean and had all that is needed when self catering. Air conditioning was a bit lacking but it was very hot. The hot tub was a definite success. Will recommend to friends but not too much as we will want to come back! Response: The comments about the lack of aircontioning have been noted, although there is a portable air con unit, this was not sufficient for high summer. We have therefore for this summer had air conditioning installed, as we wish to offer our guest a comfortable stay.

A deposit of £100 is required to confirm your stay at the time of booking, with the remainder due no later than six weeks prior to your arrival date. Bookings that are made less than six weeks before arrival the full payment is required.

Post rental clean of €50 is payable to our key holder on arrival.

A refundable breakage deposit of £75 is due with the final payment (from £125 for long lets). This will be refunded, subject to any deduction for loss or damage, within two weeks of your return.
