Villa Sophia is tastefully furnished throughout with accessories to give a real holiday feel. The kitchen has been amply equiped with place setting for six - although if you have guests there are four more chairs available for use from the patio table and chairs - the sofa converts to a small double bed. It benefits from its own gated garden with a hardstanding for car - ideal for families with small children as the communal pool is a few steps away. It is situated in a quiet area but is within easy reach of Mazarron, Cartegena and beautiful unspoilt beaches.

The Costa Calida region


One of Spain's unspoilt regions this costa has a lot to offer. It has one of the best climates in Southern Spain. It lies between the Costa Blanca and Costa Almeria. There are many national parks and there is an abundance of natural beauty. This holiday offers exceptional value for money and the area is renowned for its excellent fresh produce such as tomatoes, fruit and fresh fish; this is reflected both in the delicious cuisine on offer and the products you will no doubt find tempted to buy in the local markets.
Murcia City is steeped in architecture, beautiful churches and the winding alley ways leading to pretty shops for your holiday souveniers. The historic naval base of Cartenga is nearby with a superb harbour. Aguiles and La Manga are also worth visiting. The mountain ranges are stunning - on the whole some wonderful territory to explore.
The Mazarron / Camposol Golf area
Villa Sophia is situated in Camposol which is a purpose built urbanization with traditionally built white washed villas. The area has a warm community feel although there are many nationalities living within the area. For more information about Camposol you will find www.visiitcamposol.com very interesting reading. This site explains all there is to know about the surrounding area and whats on and where to go, all the nearby villages and beaches etc together with excellent directions to get you from both Alicante and San Javier airport. The new Corvera airport which is under construction and due to be completed the end of 2011 is only 15 minutes drive from the Villa.
There are excellent facilities in the commercial centres and enough bars and restaurants to give plenty of choice with a nice atmosphere.
The villa is located only a 15 min drive away from the exciting new Paramount Theme Park Development, ( Paramount Resort Murcia) destined to be Europes biggest theme park, all this due to start in February 2012.
Camposol now has a "land train" operating in season, for a safe pleasurable trip to the local bars and commercial areas.
There is the 4 star Sensol Spa Hotel next to the Golf Glub - five minutes walk - which has 3 lagoon style swimming pools; beauty therapies and treatments at very reasonable prices together with a gymnasium and tennis courts.
Mazarron is only ten minutes drive and is a thriving community with good facilities. This was once a mining town and the minerals left in the rocks from the past are striking.
The pretty Puerto De Mazarron is a traditional fishing port yet offers a cosmopolitan atmosphere. This is a popular resort with the Spanish who are warm and friendly.
There are many beaches and coves which are amazingly still unspoilt and free from commercialization. The area boasts some of the best beaches in Spain with clean sand and crystal blue water.

You can fly into either Alicante or San Javier airports. Alicante is further but has good access by motorway. San Javier has slightly less travel time - approximately 45 minutes using the new toll road.
Both airports are served very well by low cost airlines in UK such as Easyjet, Flybe, Ryanair, Jet2.com etc. Car hire is easy to arrange either through one of the above airlines or www.carjet.co.uk. All of these are very reliable - arrangements can also be made for car hire when arriving at the airport.
Pick up and return can be arranged (charges apply) but preferably car hire is recommended due to the situation of the villa. The roads in Spain are very good and directions can be given on request to make your arrival at the Villa as stress free as possible. We can also arrange car hire and help with best possible flights.

A great two bedroomed, four person villa set in the mountains of Mazarron. Self contained villa with electric hob, cooker, microwave, fridge and washing machine. The villa has two air conditioning units placed in the front room and the master bed room. Bath with shower. Roof terrace, front and rear terrace. Rear garden and terrace is an ideal sun trap throughout the whole day. The villa was very clean and inviting, the area is safe and friendly and the majority of residents are British ex Pats, so no worries if your not quite up to speed with your spanish. The pool is shared between the villas and was always clean and warm throughout our stay in August due to the 35 degree + weather. the pool never really gets busy with only a handful of people ever using it, most of the time we were the only ones. navigating Camposol is very easy and you soon get your bearings, the villa with the directions provided by the owners made it very easy to find and we had no problems even though most of Camposol lacks street names at present (2011 august). The local area consists of; The villa is a 10 minute walk from the Sensol Golf Club and Sensol Spa Hotel. A 20 minute walk to a local shopping precint which has a large good priced supermarket. Restaurants including an italian, indian, bulgarian, a steak house and a fish and chip shop. A number of bars all well priced. A car is a must, getting to the resort and also to explore the local area. The Port of Mazarron, 20 minutes away, almost all dual carriageway 120km speed limits all the way. this is the local beach we used which was all clean, life guards present and loads of local restaurants, bars and shops. Also Murcia is 45 minutes away which has a Zoo with a waterpark attached. Murcia and Alicante airports are both within reasonable distance of the villa with excellent roads to camposol. We will be staying at this villa again in the future, and have already recommended to our friends and family. Your villa is very nice and cosy, you can find everything.. but, please, let me tell you only thing I missed is a biggest saucepan for to prepar soup, cocido, fideuá ,etc for 5...

We have had an amazing holiday in Camposol. Your Villia is beautiful! We enjoyed spending time relaxing in your lovely compact Villa and made good use of the shared pool. The area was very close to where our family were staying which made it very easy for us to walk when we fancied going out for drinks and food with them. We also celebrated our 3rd wedding anniversary there so it was spot on.
Thanks for the directions and information it made Villa Sophia straightforward to find, we hired an ace little Fiat 500 to get about which made exploring the area and city easy and enjoyable. We will post your keys on Monday first class recorded mail and will try our best to spread the word about the accomodation for you, we hope to return in the future, thanks again.
