Villa Carmen
About the home
NEW for 2013 - FREE WIFI.
Villa Carmen is a traditionally Spanish styled 3 bed villa set in its own large well maintained private garden. The centrepiece of the garden is the 9m x 5m pool with roman steps and handrail for maximum fun and safety. The pool is completely private, for use of Villa Carmen guests only.
One of the great features of this villa, if you have small children, is that once the gate is locked the garden area is completely secure and the layout is such that children in the pool are always in view, and easily supervised, from the covered terrace.
An abundant supply of sunbeds, parasols etc is available for guests use.
The nearby golf clubhouse is open to all, has regular entertainment and serves good quality food and drinks at very reasonable prices.
Set in a quiet area of the estate and perfect for a relaxing holiday but an easy drive to Mazarron or Puerto de Mazarron with their numerous restaurants and cafe-bars.
During the summer months a charming little "road train" shuttles back and forth between the commercial centres and the rest of Camposol giving the usual driver a chance of a rest!
Air conditioning is available in the main two bedrooms. We give you a very generous electric use allowance per week which is easily adequate for normal use. Excessive use is paid for with a "pay as you go" card system though this is only necessary if the air conditioning is over-used.

Also on the same floor are the three double bedrooms and two bathrooms. A part-covered terrace is on two sides of the house with tables and chairs, one side facing south west to catch the last rays of the sun as it sets over the hills. Perfect to eat and drink al fresco in the evenings. Because this overlooks the pool children can be watched while you dine. A further seating area is at the side of the villa with a brick built bar and barbecue area. Upstairs is a large sun terrace, again completely private.
Further details outdoors:
The pool area is largely set with non slip tiles and gravel for maximum safety though you are advised that the pool is unsupervised and guests should take adequate precautions if small children or non swimmers are in the holiday group. The Costa Calida region
Murcia is the driest region of Spain with almost no rainfall in the summer months. The Costa Calida area has its own micro climate produced by the Sierra Espuna mountain range giving a warm, non-humid atmosphere and air quality unsurpassed in Spain (and most of Europe).
Winters here are short and mild, and the Spring and Autumn remind you of a great English Summer. In Summer rain is almost unknown. The landscape is a mixture of high dramatic mountains and broad fertile plains dotted with orange groves, almond plantations, olive groves and tomato farms.
The numerous local beaches are a mixture of rocky and fine golden sand, mostly blue flag and ranging from busy to almost completely deserted.
The Mazarron / Camposol area
Good shopping in Murcia city and Cartagena. Local, good value markets in Puerto and on Camposol and most surrounding towns. All towns, large or small, have regular Fiestas, mainly in Spring or Autumn.
Good quality Spanish and English bars and restaurants abound, especially for seafood lovers. Chinese food is excellent and very cheap.
Watersports, fishing and tennis all available locally. Bike and mountain bike hire available locally. Go kart circuit and tenpin bowling alley in Puerto de Mazarron.
Mazarron is a small Spanish town and is situated 25 miles from Murcia. The main town has banks, indoor produce market, medical facilities, shops and restaurants, while 5 minutes drive away is the Port. Puerto de Mazarron has superb sandy beaches and secluded coves, a harbour and a marina. There are restaurants and bars but no chip shops or fast food take-aways.
The paseo has been extended, has been renewed beautifully with no expense spared and now reaches down to El Alamillo. A walk along here is a lovely way to pass the warm evenings. Apart from tourism, the region is famous for farming and agriculture. Most of the tomatoes in British supermarkets come from this area.
Sports - Mazarron is one of the most important tourist centres for marine and sub-aquatic activities in Spain. The frequency of prevailing winds throughout the year in the Bay of Mazarron means sailing instruction and practice can be undertaken at any time of the year.Furthermore, the clear waters and rich flora and fauna offer the diving enthusiast some highly interesting underwater depths.
But Mazarron is not only sea, but also air - you can go hang-gliding and enjoy some unique views, and land: climb jagged mountains from whose peaks you can see the warmest beaches, follow paths on foot, by bicycle or on horseback through ever changing scenery... Mazarron is not just peace and relaxation. If you like adventure sports and being close to nature, you are at the right place.
Sierra Espuna - To the north of Mazarron, through Totana or Alhama, you will find the beautiful national park, Sierra Espuna. The drive can be daunting but the views are spectacular and along the journey you will find a few small bars and restaurants serving good quality and reasonably priced food. There are a number of walks signposted and if you are lucky, you will see some wild boar and red squirrels. See a different side of Spain as here there is not a beach or swimming pool in sight.
Camposol - Situated 12kms from the lovely beaches of Mazarron, a superb inland village has been created with supermarkets, restaurants, bars and shops. There is a 18 hole golf course. At the golf course you will also find a luxury clubhouse which has weekend entertainment and the driving range where a bucket of balls costs a modest €1.
Most of the properties at Camposol have use of a pool. For the more adventurous there are many country walks among the almond and olive trees.
Camposol itself has its own facilities from Banks, supermarkets, shops, bars, restaurants, doctors, dentist and so on.

Villa Carmen is everything you could want in a villa and more. It was spotlessly clean and had everything in it to make it a home from home. When we first arrived we were met by Chris and Carol who are a fantastic couple and they took us to the villa. We were well made up when we saw Villa Carmen and its pool. Our boys went straight in the villa got changed and jumped in the pool. The pool is awesome and the children were never out of it. Our holiday was very relaxing and we were on sector D of Camposol and we didnt see anyone from one day to the next. We did every thing at our own leisure and at a pace that suited us. If you did feel like going out at night there are resturants and bars just 5 mins drive away and also a todo shop and a supermarket. We have already emailed Paul about going back next year. It was great getting up in the morning and sitting on the balcony looking over the pool eating breakfast. I can not begin to tell anyone how much we enjoyed this holiday. There is also a roof terrace and you can see for miles and miles. Cant wait for next year. |
