Home description

Here in the department of Tarn one of France's best kept secrets you will find les Lamas de Labastide. Situated in a stunning area encompassing the Montagne Noir and the Haute Languedoc national park this is an area of outstanding beauty with rivers, lakes, mountains and forests. It is a paradise for walkers, cyclists and nature lovers and accessible from Toulouse, Carcassonne and Beziers. Labastide Rouairoux is a tranquil spot to base a holiday or simply spend a day or two. Les Lamas de Labastide is an organic family run smallholding based on ecological principles. Be sure to visit our llamas and donkeys whilst here.

Our gite is situated in a traditional hamlet on the GR7 walk route and offers a great base to explore the area both on foot and further a field. Our nearest town is Labastide Rouairoux it is a small market town within walking distance and caters for everyday needs. There is a friendly helpful tourism office and a textile museum. Slightly further are the larger towns of St Pons de Thomieres and Mazamet. We have mountain lakes and Mediterranean beaches within an hours drive and just slightly further the cities of Carcassonne and Toulouse.

We have tried to furnish and equip our property sympathetically. The contents of the house have been chosen to appeal to those who appreciate individuality, character and age.

The garden is lovely, it’s tucked away behind the house and accessed by a little gate.
