The Cornwall region

The Pines situated in the magical location of the Helford set within an area of outstanding natural beauty, the Helford Passage is an exclusive hamlet set in a sheltered cove. For the keen sailor there are splendid sailing waters. The sailing facilities of the area are second to none the Helford River, Falmouth Bay and the River Fal (Carrick Roads) offer some of the finest day sailing waters in the UK with excellent yachting facilities. The Helford was renowned as a haven for pirates and has inspired many writers, specifically Daphne du Maurier and her Frenchman's Creek novel.

The Helford River continues to offer good swimming and sailing facilities and a second natural harbour from which to explore the coast, much of which is owned and protected by the National Trust. As well as having fine coastal walks and creek paths, the area also has a climate suitable to many sub-tropical plants as the nearby gardens of Glendurgan and Trebah Gardens show.

Mawnan Smith

The Pines is set in one of the most beautiful settings in Cornwall, the sheltered Helford River with its many creeks and small beaches, is a tranquil and peaceful area. It can be explored by using the coastal foot paths, sailing or motor boats. The hamlet of the Helford Passage is an ideal base for holidays used by families, walkers and visitors who wish to get away from it all and explore this beautiful part of Cornwall. For those who have not yet found this wonderful part of Cornwall you will sure to return year after year.

The village of Mawnan Smith is 2km with its own post office, general stores, café, public house, restaurant the Old Smithy and craft shops.

Falmouth is a 15 minute drive which offers many great restaurants, Maritime Museum, Art Galleries, Pendennis Castle and great beaches within 3 minutes drive from each other.

"Peace and Luxury"

What a stunning place to break away from it all.
Not only is The Pines a very comfortable place to stay it is also situated in a beautiful part of Cornwall with stunning views, walks, beaches and.......pubs with good food.
The welcome we received from the owners was fantastic as was the local produce and drinks in a hamper waiting for us when we arrived.
The Pines has the cunning knack of removing your day to day concerns and exchanging them for a tranquil existence whilst you are will want to extend your time there.
The only problem with writing how good this place is the fact that you might take our booking slot next year!

"Perfect setting, great location, very well equipped"

Andrew has thought of everything in creating this great holiday home. Quietly tucked away in lovely large well stocked gardens, you have total privacy yet a short walk takes you to the Helford River and Helford Passage village.
