La Petite Maison is only a 10 minute drive to the main town of Thouars, which boasts a castle, floral park and an outside market every Friday.( not to be missed), Attractions in the area include theme parks, zoo's, markets, fishing, lakes, horse riding and golf courses.

Thouars: with its market day on Friday, bringing in people from all the surrounding areas. Puy de Fou: A place not to be missed, set in parkland, with great shows and spectacular evening laser show. (1 hours drive) Futuroscope: Cinematic screens with virtual reality rides for all ages. ( 1 hour drive) Doue La Fountaine: The zoo here is a must for all ages. (30 minute drive) Saumur: Chateau, wine tasting, art galleries, and streets full of good places to eat and drink. ( 40 minute drive) Chinon: Picturesque town with plenty of places to try the regional wines. ( 50 minute drive) Villandry: Chateau with famous gardens.

Mauze has all the general amenities that you will need, including a great boulangerie/ patisseries, mini supermarket, chemist, bar tabac and its own cave de vin. Nearby activities are Le Parc de la Vallee which is great for children The Pescalis at Moncoutant is great for fishing Argenton Les Vallees has swimming, pedalos and the restaurant on the lake is exceptional. Courlay with its Ostrich farm. International go kart track is just a 10 minute drive away.

From Nantes airport car hire is available with Europcar or Avis. Ferry to: St Malo, ( 4 hour drive) Cherbourg and Roscoff. (5 -6 hour drive)
