The Provence Alpes Cote d'Azur / Vaucluse region
There's loads to do in the Vaucluse region. The scenery is some of the most stunning in France, and has always provided a challenge to serious climbers, cyclists and hikers. Alternatively, there's Tennis available in Apt or Bonnieux, horseback riding in Apt and mountain bikes for rent in Bonnieux. It really is hard to get bored here!
There are many Regional summer festivities throughout the region: theatre in Avignon, opera in Aix and Orange, a jazz festival in La Roque d’Antheron and many antique fairs and flea markets. Many of the small local villages host their own summer festivals, and many have a weekly market, well worth a visit to see the range of local produce on offer.
If it's history you're after, there's Avignon, with the Palace Of The Popes and some of the finest examples of Medieval architecture in Europe. Or for a Roman theme, sites such as St Remy De Provence and Pont Du Garde are nearby. Each village seems to have its own history, so why not pay a visit, and wander through the narrow winding streets, or explore the ramparts and Medieval churches.
If you like the idea of a visit to the coast, you can easily go to the coast in the morning, take a swim in the warm waters of the Mediterranean, and return in the early evening.
Maubec area
Maubec is a quiet village at the foot of the Luberon Mountains, with it’s own baker, village shop, restaurant, bar and post office. It has been in the history books since the 12th century. It’s a stunning old village: the mountain scenery, olive groves, cherry trees, and vineyards make it a small paradise waiting to be discovered.
Activities available locally in the village include tennis courts, walking and biking trails.
There is a Farmers market in nearby Coustellet, (3kms), and other markets can be found in Oppede, L'Isle sur la Sorgue, (famous for antiques). You’ll find the nearest supermarket in Cavaillon, 7km away.
Cavaillon is the nearest large town, and is famous in France for having the best melons in Europe.

Further details indoors: Originally desinged by a chef intending to run cookery course, the kitchen and living area provide the focal point for this house. This is clear from the fantastic facilities - the kitchen equipment includes a microwave, oven, fridge, freezer, dishwasher and washing machine.
The furniture in the living room is all antique, and sourced locally from Isle Sur L'Sorgue. With high-beamed ceilings and stone interior, the living room has a light airy feel. An interesting feature of the property is the bar area, where you can sit and reax, maybe reading or playing cards to while away the hours!
Each of the five bedrooms are individually designed, and are equipped with oduble beds. Each bedroom has its own en suite shower room with WC. There's also a seprate WC in the property.
Further details outdoors: Outside, there's a converted barn with BBQ, table, chairs and kitchen area, perfect for dining outside during the long summer evenings!
Within the well-kept grounds, you'll find garden furniture for kicking back and relaxing during those long days. Alternatively, if you're feeling more active, there's a ping pong table and, of course, the refreshing private pool. There's also parking for 3 cars, protected by electric gates.
