The Heart of England / Peak District / Peak District/Derbyshire region
The Peak District is well known for its breathtaking countryside and stunning views wherever you go.

There's something for everyone be it the splendour of Chatsworth House and its lovely country park, Alton Towers to keep the kids amused or maybe watersports at Carsington Waters - the list of places to visit is endless.
Matlock / Matlock Bath area
At the heart of the Peak District Matlock Bath is located in the beautiful wooded gorge of the River Derwent, 1 mile from Matlock, surrounded by wooded hills and cliffs. It developed as a Spa town in the 1800's during the reign of Queen Victoria whose visit to the town instigated the Venetian Nights during September and October, which feature decorated and illuminated boats floating along the river, she said the lights reflected in the waters of the river looked like twinkling stars.
The town is also famous for its connections with Sir Richard Arkwright and the cotton trade, often being referred to as the cradle of the Industrial Revolution. Today Matlock Bath offers a selection of interesting pubs, restaurants and shops, and Arkwright's Cromford Mill, a world heritage site. The area boasts a plethora of attractions such as Gulliver's Kingdom, the Peak District Mining Museum and much more.
Enjoy a ride on the Heights of Abraham cable car and take in the views in style, or take advantage of good walking around the Derwent Valley and White Peak and cycling at Carsington Water and the High Peak Cycle Trail.
