St. Andrews House is a grade-two listed property dating back to the 18th century. The house is of great significance to Matlock and feautured on the Peak District tv series"Sweet Medicine". It enjoys a tranquil location adjacent to fields in the heart of the Peak District National Park. A mere 5 minute walk into Matlock which offers attractions to suit all tastes such as Chatsworth House, Haddon Hall, Gullivers Theme Park, and the Heights of Abraham. The market town of Bakewell famous for its confection of bakewell tarts and puddings is only a short drive away. It is also great for walkers. There are also many nice places to eat and drink in matlock and surrounding villages

Matlock area
Matlock is the county town of Derbyshire. It is a former spa town nestling on the edge of the peak district national park alongside the river Derwent. There are plenty of shops in the town in addition to places to wine and dine. It is a 10 minute drive to the historic market tourist town of Bakewell famous for its bakewell tarts and puddings! Local activities include climbing and caving, visiting Chatsworth House, Haddon Hall, peak village and Crich tramway museum, golfing, riding and of course lots of walking.We are surrounded by some of the prettiest villages in England, with fine pubs, shops and restaurants. The ancient market towns of Wirksworth, Buxton, and Bakewell are close, and all have regular markets, good shops, cafes, and antique centres. Matlock Bath is 10 minutes drive where you can visit ;
THE HEIGHTS OF ABRAHAM - Spectacular cable car ride high above the Derwent Valley, plus guided tours underground into a warren of passage ways that lead to the famous show cavern.

HADDON HALL - A fortified medieval manor house dating from the 12th Century, and probably the finest example in existence.
CASTLETON CAVES - Visit the largest natural cave entrance in the British Isles and adventure deep into a spectacular ancient underground wounderland. See the Blue John Stone in the only place in the world where it naturally occurs and enter the inner world of the underground cave system by boat and absorb the atmosphere as a watery silence echoes all around you.
RED HOUSE STABLES - This working carriage museum has one of the finest collections of original horse drawn vehicles and equipment in Britain, including one of the very few Hansom Cabs, a Stage Coach, a Royal Mail Coach & numerous other private and commercial vehicles. You can look behind the scenes, meet the horses or even book a ride around the grounds of Chatsworth House.
CARSINGTON WATER - Visit the mecca for water sports enthusiasts, where yachtswomen Ellen Mc Arther learned to sail. Sailing, canoeing, sail-boarding, fly fishing, water-slides for kids, plus cycle hire, wild life centre
There is a golf course onsite and tennis courts located in a park five minutes walk away. There are two dales riding schools nearby nad watersports are available at Carsington Water.

The railway station in Matlock is a five min walk away from the property. There is also a railway station in Chesterfield.
The nearest airport is Nottingham East Midlands approximately 40 mins away from the property.

Refundable cleaning deposit of £300 required with balance payment, to be refunded within one week of your departure (subject to satisfactory property inspection).
Balance of rental fee due six weeks prior to arrival. Bookings made less than 6 weeks ahead are due payment in full at time of reservation.
