The Heart of England/Peak District

The Peak District is a walker's paradise. We are extremely fortunate to live in one of the many beautiful parts and within a stones throw are stunning walks by the river. All within an easy drive are Matlock, Chatsworth Stately Home, Haddon Hall, Bakewell, Youlgreave, Spa town of Buxton and the whole of The Peak District National Park on your doorstep.

The small 17th century village of Two Dales lies 3 miles from Matlock. Surrounded by woodland, old mill ponds and famous grit stone outcrops the area is brimming with wildlife. Several trails are within easy reach and ideal for experienced walkers, casual ramblers or cyclists. A short walk out of the village leads you directly into the Peak District National Park where you can explore the open moorland. Small it may be, the village boasts a Post Office, a butcher; a small supermarket, bank , garden centre, garage, and a chemist. The old village pub, The Plough Inn, serves sandwiches, fine ales and cider on tap. In Matlock you will find all the usual amenities as well as a Sainsbury's and there are plenty of bars and restaurants.

"Totally relaxing"

The cottage is exquisite and every detail has been thought of. The surrounding area and views are simply stunning with as little or as much to do as you like. Can't wait to book up again.

"Idyllic accommodation overlooking a beautiful valley"

A beautifully decorated cottage throughout with lovely views down the valley. The location was central to the many places we visited in the Peak District. We were greeted with a cream tea and made to feel very welcome. There is still so much to see and do in the area, we would definitely return.
