Matlock bath and Matlock grew popular during the early Victorian era due to the Spa waters and dramatic scenery, the gorge cut through the limestone by the river Derwent has the feeling of a mini seaside about it. Travel Alp style on the cable car ride up to the Heights of Abraham and explore the caves as well as the bird's eye view or the area.
