Relax and enjoy a tranquil holiday or find adventure on your doorstep. Darwin Lake has on offer a fantastic brand new cottage - Ashover - one of 16 luxury 4 Star holiday cottages set around the lake in 10 acre woodland grounds which you are welcome to explore. This modern stone built holiday cottage and the Darwin Lake complex itself is a purpose designed small holiday village. Designed with the holidaymaker in mind we ensure you have everything you need on hand, for a relaxing break in the popular Peak District holiday location.

The cottage sleeps up to 6 guests in three bedrooms all with en-suite/shower room. The cottage is kept exceptionally well and features contemporary interior design with a luxury feel. The kitchen and bathrooms are modern and well equipped being open plan with the dining room and comfortable seating area, to allow interaction during your stay. There is an entrance hallway with stairway to the first floor, plenty of storage and a downstairs double bedroom with en-suite/shower room. All linen and towels are included along with central heating and hot water provided free of charge. All beds are zip-and-link and can be made up to your requirements - either as twins or kingsize beds depending on your needs. There is private parking and we are just half an hour from the M1. Ashover is a brand newly built cottage that is now available, short breaks and late offers catered for.

The Heart of England / Peak District / Peak District/Derbyshire region

It is the 2nd most visited National Park attracting people from all over the world to relax and find peace in the beauty of the natural World.

Here you will find adventure and exploration with some of the finest walking, cycling, climbing and caving in England. There are quaint villages and market towns full of curiosity shops, cafe's, bars and restaurants; Stately homes, ancient monuments, scenic drives, waterfalls and great picnic sites to be explored


Matlock / Darley Moor area

Darwin Lake is surrounded by Forestry land & sits between craggy moorland with lovely panoramic views, and the Derwent Valley World Heritage Site. Less than 6 miles away are Chatsworth Hall, Haddon Hall, Peak Steam Railway, Matlock Bath's Heights of Abraham, Arkwright's Mill, and Gullivers Kingdom theme park. A little farther are Alton Towers theme park, and Carsington Water, a highly popular watersports and wildlife centre with cycle hire & restaurant.

Riding, golf, and Matlock's shops, galleries, Inns and restaurants 3 miles. Village shops and good pubs 2 miles, local Inn within walking distance. Guests are welcome to use the indoor heated swimming pool & sauna at Knockerdown Farm near Carsington Water.

There is something for everyone from the most active to the more sedate, children are most welcome at Darwin Lake.

The 3 cottages (Beeley, Ashover and Farley) can be booked together to sleep a total 18 guests at a discount of 10%. Ideal for those wishing to holiday as a group but still requiring some privacy. For example from late May to 4 July 2008 book all three cottages for £2,068 including discount, that’s just £115 per person for the week.
