"Owners drunken son broke into the house. DO NOT STAY HERE"

The house is beautiful. A stunning surrounding and an enviable location. However, things took a turn for the worse when the owners son let himself into the house, whilst intoxicated and got into one o… More

Our son who lives in London had been staying in the annex for the whole of January during our maintenance period, on the evening of Friday 13th February he had been out with friends and mistakenly arrived back at Highfield and got into bed. (he accessed the annex through the court yard fire escape that had been left unlocked - He didn't break in & the guests were downstairs)
On finding him in bed the guests sensibly called the police, who then informed me but didn't take the matter any further, as no serious complaint was issued.

I attended first thing the following morning to investigate the situation, the guests seemed far from distressed, however a few days later I received a correspondence from the leader of the group that one of her party felt a 50% refund would be appropriate due to the disturbance.

Obviously this is a very serious matter to us, but a situation that would never ever happen again.

The group have already been offered a complimentary break due to their inconvenience.
