Cottage | 2 bedrooms | sleeps 3

Key Info
  • Suitable for children over 5

The first thing that strikes you when arriving at the cottage is the stunning view it has across the valley to the cable cars that rise to the Heights of Abraham, this is enjoyed from all the cottages rooms. On arrival you will find milk in the fridge and some home-made treat for you to enjoyl. The accommodation is warm, welcoming and cosy (that doesn't mean cramped).

It is such a lovely retreat to return to after a day exploring the fascinating and beautiful area, there are tracks and trails straight from the door to enjoy on foot or on 2 wheels (secure, dry bike storage is provided). There is a bus stop not many yards away and the train station is within twenty minutes walk down the path to Matlock Bath There is a dog-friendly pub 200 yards away serving good food.

Places locally of interest are many and include Matlock Bath and Matlock having shops, cafes and more recently a thriving "Vintage" quarter, the town also has a lovely park and new sports centre. Cromford with it's industrial heritage of canal (horse drawn narrow boat by spring 2014) Arkwright mill buildings and Mason Mill shopping center are all within walking distance. A little further afield and you can enjoy the splenders of Chatsworth House, Haddon Hall, Hardwick Hall, Ilam Hall and the pretty town of Bakewell (renowned for it's pudding). For more shopping choice the large market town of Chesterfield of crocked spire fame is approximately 8 miles away.
