Les Vignes Vertes is a farmhouse located in a small hamlet near Matha, in France's beautiful Poitou-Charentes region. Surrounded by rolling hills and fields of sunflowers, it's the perfect place for a relaxing break in the countryside.

The farmhouse can accommodate up to 8 guests in 4 double rooms. It is comfortable and fully equipped with all mod cons. During the day. you can enjoy our secluded outdoor swimming pool, relax on the patio or in the garden - or, if you're feeling adventurous, bicycles are available for exploring the surrounding countryside. In the evening, you can have a barbecue or sit back and watch a DVD in the lounge (complete with wood burning stove for those chilly winter evenings!)

Further afield, there's plenty to do in the area around Les Vignes Vertes.. The lovely countryside is just waiting to be explored on foot, by bicycle or in the car. The nearby town of Saintes (30 mins) is easily accessible, as is the famous Cognac (30 mins) and it's vineyards. France's Atlantic coast, with its beautiful white-sand beaches, is just an hour away by car.

For golfers there is an excellent golf course in Cognac.

The Poitou-Charentes / Vendee / Charente Maritime region

Poitou-Charentes is located on France's Atlantic seaboard, and is blessed with a 300-mile long coastline that is home to sandy beaches and famous resorts such as La Rochelle and the Ile de Re.
The area also offers the visitor easy access to attractions such as the Loire Valley and the Bordeaux vineyards - meaning that whatever you are looking for in your French holiday, you're probably going to find it here!

The region itself is an idyllic rural paradise, with gentle wooded hills and valleys, fields of sunflowers and the famous Cognac vineyards.

Poitou-Charentes boasts a mild climate with 2,250 hours of sunshine a year, making it a desirable destination any time between early spring and late autumn.

Matha / Bresdon area

Les Vignes Vertes is situated in a small hamlet amid rural countryside. The surrounding area is idyllic and peaceful, with vineyards and sunflowers.
As such, it is perfect for a countryside break and very safe for children.

Whatever your age and interests, there is plenty to do in the surrounding area, including museums and other attractions related to local culture (including brandy factories!), excellent restaurants, a swimming complex in the next town, and the famous Angouleme classic car race in September.

The ground floor of Les Vignes Vertes consists of a well-equipped kitchen/diner, a utility room with washing machine and freezer, and a large lounge area with TV, DVD player and wood burrner.

On the first floor there are four double bedrooms, one of which is en suite. In addition, there is a separate toilet and bathroom.

In a separate cottage we have one double room (with double bed), one twin room and a shower room. The two properties share a washing machine.

We welcome well-behaved dogs - but sorry, no cats.

Smokers are welcome to stay at Les Vignes Vertes - but please only smoke outside.

25% of rental fee is due six weeks before your stay to secure booking.
