Maison Lavande (gite)

Home description

Maison Lavande is situated in the beautiful hamlet of Le Breuil, Meilhards. It is tranquil and peaceful yet within easy access to many towns and sights - great for sightseeing all those gorgeous chateux and monuments etc. Maison Lavande is ideal for families and is simply but comfortably furnished and comprises of a comfortable living area which includes tv, dvd, stereo, playstation etc. Fully equipped kitchen with dining area , a double and a twin bedrooms. A small but very pretty balcony provides a seating area for the adults to relax and unwind with a nice glass or two of wine while their children safely play in the garden below. Our vegetable and fruit patches are available to use as when you like as our free range chicken and duck eggs.

The Limousin / Auvergne / Correze region

The Correze is essentially a farming area, with orchards and market gardens in the mild bottom land around Brive, cereals on the poor upland soils and the red-coated Limousin beef cattle grazing on the pastures. Among its many noble old towns and villages, the Correze has no fewer than six of the official "Most Beautiful Villages in France" Fine historical towns and villages such as Treignac, Seilhac and Pompadour punctuate the green hills and valley bottoms. There are just too many beautiful places to visit to mention but all are charming and historical. There is also many activities for the more energetic of us which include: canoeing and kayaking, horse riding, windsurfing and fishing to name a few. Situated in the Correze region of South West France, this area boasts many tourist attractions. Within walking distance is a large country park with lake and public beach. Here there are many designated country walks plus tennis, mini golf and a park restaurant.

Masseret / Meilhards area

Nearby Pompadour is home to the national stud and stages regular events at its racecourse. The visit of its grand castle and a tour of the stables of mares and foals makes a fun family day out. The city of Tulle holds festivals along its river banks. Nearby Chamberet is set in some extraordinary natural sites and the historic town of Masseret is only 5kms away - with its bakers, butchers, restaurants, pharmacy, supermarket, hairdressers and newsagents. Masseret is also notes for its magnificent tower which dominates the town. Many, many more await you!! Many local produce markets are held in many different villages throughout the week and events such as circus acts, opera, concerts and fetes are held throughout the summer months.

How to get there

Fly direct to Limoges Airport from many british airports including: Newcastle. Liverpool, Manchester, Southampton and London Stansted.
Budget Flights are always available from Flybe and Ryanair.
Car hire companies are available at the airport and include Avis, Europcar and Hertz. All these companies have an after hour key drop off facility which is great for those out of hour budget flights.
The journey from the airport to our gite is straigthforward, easy and stressfree. Straight onto the A20 and exit at junction 43. Directions and an information pack will be sent on confirmation of booking.

Further details indoors:
Our gite is situated on the first floor and has 15 steps up to the front door, so may be unsuitable for small children. All bedding and towels are included as is a welcoming food basket. Meals are available upon request(enabling you to relax even more without the headache of cooking the evening meal) as are picnic baskets and packed lunches etc.

Further details outdoors:
Garden tables and chairs and bbq are available for you to use in the garden which is overlooked by our neighbouring cows and sheep. Our free range chickens and ducks provide plenty of fresh eggs and you are free to use them as you wish, also free use of the veggie patch is available should you wish to do so. Children can feed the chickens and collect eggs upon request and are encouraged to do so and also to pick fresh fruit and vegetables.

A welcome food basket and information pack will be provided upon arrival.
Although the garden is there for you to use as you wish, the swimming pool and swings etc are shared with the owners.

Conditions

A 50% deposit will be required 6 weeks before your stay to secure your booking.
A refundable breakages deposit of 50.00 will be required upon arrival and refunded on departures (subject to inspection)
Well behaved, friendly dogs and cats are welcome.
