The Pays de la Loire region

Brittany is popular with tourists because of the great diversity of its spectacular scenery. From the high peaks of the Monts d’Arree and the Montaignes Noires in the north, to the beautiful beaches of La Baule and Pornic in the south you will find an ever changing landscape.

The region of Brittany is divided into four main departments: Finistere to the west, Cotes-d’Armour to the north, Ille-et-Vilaine to the south and east, and Morbihan, which is located in the centre and to the south of Brittany.

Along the Northern Coast you will discover many lovely craggy bays and beaches reminiscent of Cornwall. The famous Mont St Michel can be seen from afar rising out of the sea and dominating the horizon.

The Southern Coast is bordered by the mighty Atlantic Ocean. This is where sailors from the past once set off on their long and dangerous voyages to the Orient. The impressive sandy beaches are a favourite with the holidaymaker, and many holiday parks and hotels can be found nearby.

Deep in the centre of rural Brittany you will find many hectares of forest and woodland. This is an area steeped in folklore tales and legends of the adventures of King Arthur and his knights of the round table.

Beautiful fishing lakes , stunning beaches , plenty of pretty towns and villages with traditional French markets. 2 excellent Family friendly swimming pools close by. Chateau to visit and Nantes/Rennes and Vannes are all within 40/50 minutes drive. Local restaurants extremely good value for money and delicious home cooked food. You can cycle for miles and just enjoy the breathtaking scenery that surrounds the house.

"Beautiful area, but accomodation not what we expected"

On arriving the property looked neglected. It wasn't clean, and we had an unfortunate toilet blockage on the first day that resulted in sewage coming up in the bath. The owner is in the UK, and ar… More

Thank you for your comments and the feedback left. Incidents like this could not have been foreseen however every effort was made to relocate the guests, immediately, whilst the plumbing issue was fixed but the guests stated they wished to remain in the house. As the issue took longer to resolve the family were provided a new gite for the remainder of their stay. The house and grounds are regularly maintained and we have always received positive feedback and regret the disruption caused to our guests on this occasion but we pride ourselves on our personal touch and customer care and feel we did everything possible to resolve the matter.

"Perfect rural escape !"

I booked Cherry Tree Farm as a base to see the tour de france and was very happy that I did. The house is ideally situated in a hamlet but within cycling or walking distance of the village where there is a very good boulangerie and bar. The house is very comfortable and well equipped with a spacious kitchen diner and large bedrooms. There was more than enough room for my husband and I and the huge garden is a delight with lovely fruit trees and birds in abundance. The house was a cool sanctuary from the blistering heat which we were blessed with throughout our stay and the garden is very peaceful and private. The river is not far from the house and is great for cycling along with a picnic. The area is a bird watchers paradise with varying habitats. For shopping the town of Redon is not too far away and with its pretty port and streets is worth visiting and being on the Nantes Brest canal is also a bonus. The area is great for all water lovers with boats for hire and canoeing as well as the swimming lakes nearby. We know the area well as we have visited every year for the last five years but there is always something to see and do regardless of the weather. We would have no hesitation in booking Cherry Tree Farm again and have recommended it to our friends. We had an extremely enjoyable time there and it is probably one of the best properties we have stayed in.

Thank you for your review and we are glad you enjoyed your stay

"An absolute gem!!!"

Lovely, well equipped property with a huge garden. An excellent base to explore Southern Brittany. My family and I spent 3 weeks at the property in August 2011 and had a wonderful time. You can't do anything else but relax in this property and the surrounding area. The welcome pack was lovely touch. We will definately be returning as there was so much we didn't get to do!!!

Thank you so much for your review and we are glad you enjoyed your stay
