About the home

Villa Licia is an elegant, attractive apartment measuring around 160 m2. Suitable for eight persons, it occupies the whole of the ground floor of a villa on a hillside facing the sea. Villa Licia offers marvellous views that sweep across from the greenery of the Sorrento peninsula to the Gulf of Naples. The villa has a spacious private garden and independent heating.

It is 100 metres from Metrano, and at the same distance you will find a restaurant, a food shop and a bus stop. The nearest beach is 6 km away. Access to the villa is easy and convenient, as it is level with the garden and the road.

For your convenience, we suggest you have a car available during your stay. Parking is available, upon payment, along the road (at a distance that can vary from around 20 metres upwards, depending on the spaces available). Alternatively, you can leave your car in a public carpark, although spaces there cannot be booked.

The 60 m2 patio can be reached from the sitting room and the bedrooms. Part of it is shaded by a pergola formed by beautifully scented flowers, and it is equipped with a table, chairs, two deckchairs and two sun loungers. There are splendid views from here.

Part of the 300 m2 garden is shaded by a pergola of vines. You can reach the garden from the sitting room or the bedrooms, and it is equipped with deckchairs, two sun loungers and an outdoor shower, as well as a masonry barbecue. The garden offers the same splendid views as the rest of the villa.

Facilities

You can reach the living area from the dining room and the corridor. The floor is paved with antique cotto tiles. The furnishings are attractive and sophisticated, and feature a number of antique pieces.

You can relax in front of the beautiful fireplace on the sofa or one of the four armchairs, and the sitting room also boasts a satellite TV, a DVD player and a CD player.

The second living area also features antique cotto tiles, attractive furnishes and a comfortable sofa bed. Both areas lead out to the patio, from where there is a view of the sea. Four steps lead up to the dining room from the sitting room or the kitchen.

The room is furnished in an elegant, classic style, with a number of antique pieces and a table seating eight. A French window leads out from the dining room to the patio.

The kitchen can be reached through either the dining room or the study. It is equipped with five gas rings, a small electric oven, a fridge freezer, a dishwasher, an Italian coffee maker, a toaster and a kettle. It leads out through a French window onto the patio and the garden, from where you can enjoy views of the sea and the coast.

The suite comprises three areas connected to each other a sleeping area on the mezzanine (at a height of 1.9 metres), a sitting room and a bathroom. The floor of the comfortably furnished bedroom is tiled in antique cotto.

Here you will find a small double bed, with an extra single bed available (if requested in advance) to turn it into a twin room. The sitting room has a leather sofa, an armchair and a desk. The bedroom leads out onto a patio, with a view of the garden. The en suite bathroom features a washbasin, toilet and enclosed shower.

The second bedroom lies off the corridor, and is cosily and attractively furnished, with a double bed. There is a French window that leads out onto the patio with a view of the sea.

The third tidily furnished bedroom also lies directly off the corridor. There is a double bed, and the room leads out through a French window to the patio

The first bathroom has a washbasin, toilet and bathtub with shower head. The second bathroom has a washbasin, toilet, enclosed shower and hairdryer.

Level with the garden there is a laundry room, which you can reach directly from the terrace. Here you will find a washing machine, iron and ironing board at your disposal.

The Campania region

The city of Sorrento and its neighbouring cities, provides the tourist numerous historical and cultural sites to visit.

The Basilica of Saint AntoninoErected during the X Century in honor of the patron saint of the sailors, the Basilica of Saint Antonino stands in the historical centre of the city, in front of the Municipal House (Town Hall).

The history of this famous church is as interesting as troubled: in 1300 it became the residence of the "Battenti Brotherhood", or better a heretical movement that took its first steps in Naples, while in the XVII century an impressive restoration has been carried out by the Theatin Brothers, a religious institute of consecrating life.

Sorrento CathedralThe impressive building has been erected in the XI century and it numbers among its beauties some frescos of renowned Neapolitan artists.

At the top of the tower you can admire an excellent clock tiled with majolica. The Cloister of San FrancescoThe most delicious among the Sorrento monuments is certainly the Cloister of San Francesco.

Being renovated many times, the Cloister shows a characteristic mixture of architectural styles, which go from the late gothic to the Renaissance, while the adjoining dining hall preserves all its trecento peculiarities.
