About the home

Situated a short 5-10 minutes walk from the sand dunes, the protected lagoon, and the long beautiful Maspalomas beach which stretch along the coast from the nearby Faro lighthouse. This stunning and very private upmarket Hacienda style villa, features its own private solar heated swimming pool with jacuzzi feature, landscaped with bougainvillea and flowering shrubs and yet, all the modern facilities (restaurants, supermarkets, taxis etc) may be found less than a 5 minute stroll away in the Faro 2 Centre. The Maspalomas beach and sand dunes are a 10 minute walk as are the shops, restaurants and bars at Melonares. The villa is a 3/4 minute drive from the extensive nightlife of the Yumbo, Cita and Kasbah centres in Playa del Ingles, as well as close to all the main holiday attractions of Gran Canaria: Holiday World Fairground, Aqualand, Perla Canaria, Go Karting, Jeep Safaris and Camel Tours and the main golf course of Maspalomas.

The villa, which is all on one floor, is designed around the beautifully designed Hacienda style living room, with a its high wooden beamed ceiling and chandelier, antique rustic furniture, leather sofas and art works. Adjacent to the living room is the modern designer kitchen and a large shaded porch/terrace with a large centrally featured farmhouse table - ideal for the family to gather around at mealtimes and for keeping an eye on the exquisite private and secluded garden and the pool/jacuzzi. It has three themed bedrooms decorated with imported Osborne and Little wall coverings and fabrics as well as two specially designed bathrooms.This is more than a holiday villa - it is a home with real style in a very upmarket part of the South of Gran Canaria only a few minutes walk from the sand dunes,the longest beach on the island, the 5 star resort at Melonares, the Casino,the Faro 11 shopping Centre, Holiday World Fairground, etc., The Maspalomas golf course is literally across the road. In addition to your own private pool with jacuzzi feature there is a very large shared pool available to residents immediately behind the villa.

The villa has a beautifully tended garden with plenty of space and furniture for private sunbathing around the pool all day long. There are flowering hedges abounding the entrance pathway and bouganvillea along the front fence. At the front of the house there is a large porch/terrace which affords shade as well as comfortable seating and a huge antique dining table and seating for up to 10.

Available weekly all year. A 20% deposit secures a booking with the balance due 10 weeks prior to departure.
Changeovers usually on Saturdays or occasionally Mondays.

The Gran Canaria region

Gran Canaria is the most southerly of the Canary Islands with a warm and sunny, but rarely excessively hot climate all year round . As well as having some 17 km of beaches closeby, the beauty of the largest area of sand dunes in Europe is world renowned as is the lively nightlife which caters for all tastes and truly runs through the night until the dawn breaks !

The island itself has a breathtaking array of holiday attractions as well as a wild and wonderful mountanous interior and a lively cultural calendar in the city of Las Palmas (a 40 minute drive) which includes an annual music festival which draws many of the world's most famous orchestras, and an opera festival to match any in the world in the city's recently re-furbished nineteenth century Perez Galdos Opera House.

The Maspalomas area

Maspalomas is at the heart of the holiday resort of the South of Gran Canaria, and yet remains a beautiful palm tree lined quiet residential area with a Beverley Hills feel and a staggering view of the nearby mountains.

It is secluded and very close to the long sand dune lined beaches, the 5 star hotels of Melonares, the Casino, the Vegas Legends Cabaret, Holiday World fairground, Perla Canaria, Palmitos Park, Go Karting, Camel safaris and many other attractions. There are many restaurants (of all complexions) and the non stop boisterous nightlife which runs till dawn and can suit all tastes in the Yumbo, Kasbah and Cita Centres in Playa del Ingles.

There are inexpensive regular scheduled flights to Gran Canaria from all over the UK throughout the year by Easyjet, Thomas Cook, Monarch, First Choice, Aer Lingus and Ryan Air. In addition there are inexpensive charter flights from nearly every UK airport from such airlines as ThomsonFly and Thomas Cook..

Prices cover up to 6 people and are based on weekly bookings starting and ending on the regular changeover day in practice -usually Monday or Saturday. There is a supplement of £200 pw for more than 6 as well as the 2 Easter weeks. Other public and half term holidays and celebrations may be subject to a £100 pw surcharge.
