If you're looking for a lovely holiday home within a very relaxing environment, then we're sure 'Casa Solomie' will not disappoint. A beautiful private complex, never too crowded, giving you the time and the space to thoroughly unwind and enjoy the Canarian sunshine. Located in a very convenient location, close to all amenities and only a stone's throw from the central resort, the fabulous beaches and the magnificent Dunes of Maspalomas... Casa Solomie is a beautifully located holiday home in the famous resort of Maspalomas, Gran Canaria. It is situated in a well maintained private complex with sub-tropical gardens and three delightful pools (one especially for younger children). The complex is built in the typical 'Guancha' style making use of local Volcanic stone and attractively built in terraces around the central pools. The local area has very good facilities and excellent bus and taxi services, so a car is not necessary.
There is a small friendly poolside bar serving very reasonably priced beverages, coffee, ice creams with a billiard/ pool table, games and TV. (bar open all day until 22.00 hrs).
The holiday home is a lovely property in the corner of the central Plaza, close to the pools (8 meters) and with its own tiled terrace, volcanic stone walls and a small garden with tropical flowers/ plants. The garden has outdoor furniture and a large sun canopy, ideal for relaxing and dining 'Al fresco'.
A light and airy modern decor gives the house a pleasant homely feel with a fully equiped kitchen, cosy lounge with DLTV and DVD and a front Terrace room overlooking the patio and garden areas. The house has a laundry room with washing machine, (recently re-fitted) ideal for families and large drying area with iron and ironing board. (Solana).
The property has ample storage (fitted wardrobes) for clothing upstairs within the double master bedroom. The double bed can be split into two single beds on request, in advance. The bedroom has a large ceiling fan for warm nights and adjacent, a newly decorated bathroom with refreshing shower, new bath & wc units and marble top vanity area. The upstairs is served by a semi-open staircase/ stairwell.
The house has a very comfortable sofa bed located in the Terrace room of the downstairs living area, which can be made private by night with a partitioning door, forming a private 'annexe' bedroom for either 1 adult or 2 children. The sofa bed is double size and all additional bedding is provided in the rental charge as standard for 3 or 4 persons occupancy. Note: Extra bedding is supplied at cost for addiitional use of sofa bed when using master bedroom for 2 person occupancy.
The 'eco-friendly' salt water pools are less than 10 metres from the property gate and there are free sun loungers and outdoor showers. The main saltwater pool has water cascades and one pool is very shallow for children. Guests may also make use of the free Tennis Courts and outdoor Pool table. The complex is safe and secure with electronic key access and is in a well established and prime location with far reaching views over the lighthouse area and Atlantic coastline. The beach is a short stroll (20 mins) or a local beach bus/ taxi is available for a nominal charge.
Included in rental charge: Local taxes and service fees, Water, Electricity and final departure cleaning. (Note: Air Conditioning is charged at £2.00 per day optional - recommended April to October),. All bed linens included and towels (not beach towels). We provide a managing agent for your full assistance during your stay. We ask guests to arrive in resort before 9pm (21.00 hours). Guests may stay in the property until they are due to depart for the airport on their last day - We don't expect our guests to have to wait around unnecessarily with their suitcases. You can enjoy the pools and facilities right upto the last hour of your stay!! After all this is your holiday and we want you to enjoy every minute!
We are close to Aqualand, Water Park, Palmitos Zoo/ Dolphinarium and tropical gardens, Holiday World and Sioux City Western Theme Park - ideal for children. The sister resort of Playa del Ingles is 4 minutes by taxi.
NOTE THAT OUR MAXIMUM OCCUPANCY IS 2 ADULTS + 2 CHILDREN or 3 ADULTS ONLY. THERE IS A MINIMUM AGE REQUIREMENT OF 6 YEARS OLD DUE TO A SEMI-OPEN STAIRCASE IN PROPERTY (SAFETY REGULATIONS). PLEASE STATE AGE OF CHILDREN WHEN MAKING A BOOKING ENQUIRY.

The Canary Islands region
The local area of Maspalomas is a well established resort with excellent facilities for everyone. Whether you are a single traveller, couple or small family, you will find this resort ticks all the boxes and more. The area is particulartly flat , however the property is located on a small incline overlooking the Campo Internacional and the Atlanic costline.
Local facilities are very good with excellent entertainment in Maspalomas, Meloneras and the sister resort next door, 'Playa del Ingles', just a few minutes by taxi. There are good restaurants,( recommended - El Carreton Steak house, La Vista Bonita restaurant and Bamboo Garden Chinese restaurant 5* nearby) cafes and local markets and supermarkets for all variety of goods and services. (Spar, Hyper Dino, etc). There are duty free malls close by for all manner of designer clothing, Perfume shopping and electronic goods.
Of course, the climate is the 'jewel in the crown' for Gran Canaria, indeed all the Canary Islands with warm weather all year round and throughout the Winter months. Very little rain gives a very dry and arrid atmosphere with sand dunes and oasis to be explored. The central area of the island is stunningly beautiful with massive volcanic gorges and high peaks.
Maspalomas is one of the very first areas to be opened up to tourism in the Canary Islands. The area is famous for its very dry and warm climate all year round and its clean, light golden sands and warm Atlantic waters. The area has many 5 star hotels and luxurious villas along with large complexes of bungalows, Casita houses and apartments. A delightful area at the very southern tip of the island. Ideal for everyone. A great holiday destination.
Explore the Palmitos Park and Dolphin Park nearby with Aqualand just a shone's throw from the property. The area has good water sports facilities, diving and 2 x fantastic Golf courses. Why not go Paragliding, take a trip in a real submarine to view the ocean coral reefs or take it easy in one of many pampering lifestyle spas nearby.

We thank you very much for your review of the property and we are delighted that you enjoyed your stay at Casa Solomie and that you had a relaxing holiday on the island.
The air conditioning system is located at ground level, therefore, we ask guests to close all windows when the air conditioning unit is in operation. This then allows the cool air to circulate the whole property efficiently. There is a ceiling fan within the main bedroom on the first floor which we recommend to be used on warm nights.
