The Northern England / Yorkshire/Yorkshire Dales region
Shropshire delights with its variety. Whether exploring the castle, narrow streets or fine dining of Ludlow, strolling by the river in medieval Shrewsbury or discovering delightful Church Stretton, Bridgnorth or Bishops Castle, you can be assured of plenty to see and sample. Even the museums and attractions are wide ranging; from the industrial investigations to ecologically informative nature centres, and even the chance to step back in time and visit a working Victorian village.
Even the landscape alters, from the hills, heaths and deep wooded valleys of the Welsh borderlands to the magnificent, moorland scenery of the Long Mynd, while the beautiful Teme, Clu, Corve and Onny valleys host an amazing variety of wildlife. You can even take a walk on the wild side among the legendary Stiperstones, at Wenlock Edge and within the stunning Clee Hills.
The Masham area
Situated in the lower reaches of pretty Wensleydale, the historic little market town of Masham lies alongside the River Ure. Boasting a huge market square with popular Wednesday and Saturday markets, this lovely little town is set gently rolling farmland which provides a wide selection of walks around the area. This includes a popular and recently reopened ten mile walk along the Ure that is widely regarded as one of the best walks in the UK. With an excellent range of crafts, galleries, shops, restaurants and pubs, the town has become known for the local Black Sheep Brewery which now brews eleven million pints of beer a year. The town of Harrogate is nearby and visitors may also enjoy a trip to the famous Betty’s Tea Rooms – home to the famous Taylor’s Tea, Yorkshire Blend.

Guestbook for 3528 - Old Chapel Post House
The location was great. A very quick walk into Masham and close to all shops, bars, cafe etc. The accommodation was set out really well, with ten people it felt comfortable and everyone commented on how great the building was. We would book this accommodation again tomorrow!

,Masham is a lovely friendly place. The building itself is stunning and the inside is set up to feel like a home from home. It looked like the owners really wanted us to feel comfortable - towels provided, plenty of crockery and cutlery, washing up materials etc. I took my daughters and their friends and we all thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

,Size of the property, there were 10 of us and there was plenty of room for everyone - even if they wanted a bit of space alone. Masham is a lovely village with lots of amenities, especially places to eat, buy local fresh produce and there are lots of interesting places to visit - all a short distance away - walks, caverns, castles, gorges. We all had a brilliant holiday.
