Northern England region
From heather-clad moors and limestone scars, to market towns and the steady pace of country life - the sublime Dales await you! Where else in Britain is it as satisfying to sit and do nothing as it is to explore the numerous pursuits on offer?
Set amidst the stunning moorland scenery and lush green meadows of Nidderdale, the pretty village of Lofthouse is idyllically situated in a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Home to a charming, old-world pub - 'The Crown' – this quaint little village also boasts a general store and post office. Offering a wider range of amenities is the historic city of Ripon with its ancient crypt that's over a thousand years old, the Yorkshire Law & Order Museums, a bustling weekly market, an International Music Festival and the Ripon Races. If you prefer a more relaxed pace, though, why not explore the wealth of riverside and canal walks, or the famous Fountains Abbey and Studley Royal Garden? Lofthouse is also well placed for trips to the Yorkshire Dales, the North York Moors, Harrogate, Knaresborough and York.
