Park Street is one of the small roads leading from the market place with rows of finely built terraced cottages. As Park Street recedes from the market place it is joined from the west by Swinton Terrace which leads out to Masham Golf Club and the glories of Swinton Park.

Just before the junction with Swinton terrace is a short row of stone built terraced cottages sitting back from the roadway. Magnolia Cottage is a modern conversion snuggled in at the end of this short terrace. To the front of the cottage is a paved yard, shared by the adjoining cottage, with flower borders, a mature garden and ample room for parking.

Entry is to a hallway with a small utility alcove which leads through to the main lounge/dining room at the rear of the cottage. The lounge has a large patio door leading out to a pretty garden with lawn and flagged area to sit and enjoy the afternoon and evening sunshine. Off the lounge is a well fitted galley kitchen and also a wet room with shower, washbasin and toilet. Also from the main hallway to the front of the cottage is a double bedroom overlooking the yard and front garden. A stairway rises from the lounge to a second double bedroom built into the rafters with roof lights which provide a warm natural glow to the room.

A stylish and contemporary cottage with lots of character offering a very high standard of accommodation.

The Yorkshire region

Carved from the rugged Pennine hills by ancient glaciers, gently eroded by rushing streams and then softened by meandering rivers, the Yorkshire Dales form one of the most varied and spectacular landscapes in Britain. Scenery so breathtaking and unspoilt that some 680 square miles have been protected as a National Park since 1954 - the Yorkshire Dales National Park.

Masham

One such settlement is the small market town of Masham, a 'Gateway to The Dales'. Now most famous for the Theakston's and Black Sheep breweries, both owned by the Theakston family who first started brewing in 1827 and warmly welcome visitors to watch them ply their crafts and sample the rewards of their labour. Pretty riverside walks with parkland and playing fields on the doorstep, the nearby stately grounds of Swinton Castle with its delicious restaurant, the fun-park at Lightwater Valley and the not so distant attractions of Ripon, Harrogate and York offer enjoyment and excitement for all.

"Perfection in Masham"

We have just returned from a very happy week at Magnolia Cottage where we couldn't have been more comfortable.

We found the cottage very easily, our welcome was warm and we were installed with the kettle on in a matter of minutes!

The cottage is tastefully furnished and well equipped and just a couple of minutes walk from all the shops, cafes and pubs in the centre of Masham. The bed we slept in was supremely comfortable and we were well supplied with soft, fluffy towels.

We are already planning our next visit.

Great to hear you had a happy week at Magnolia Cottage in Masham, always good to know.........

"wonderful, cosy, very very comfortable."

A really well designed compact little cottage, with everything we needed for a fantastic week in the Yorkshire Dales. Warm and cosy, great location, wonderful village. Highly highly recommend.

So pleased you enjoyed your stay at Magnolia Cottage in Masham and for your lovely comments. We look forward to hearing from you again when you're ready to revisit the area.
