The Central Slovakia / Mala Fatra National Park region

The Malá Fatra Mts. is one of the most valuable mountain ranges of Slovakia in terms of landscape. It spreads in the north-west of Slovakia and it is full of tourists in every season of the year.
Klak Mt. In summer, it is visited above all by hikers who head to the mountains Velký Fatranský Kriván (1 709 m) or Velký Rozsutec (1 610 m). The tallest top of the southern part of the Malá Fatra is the mountain Klak (1 352 m), allegedly with the best views in the country.
The Malá Fatra Mts. is criss-crossed by hiking trails in total length of more than 400 km. There are also many springs and water falls, the highest of them is the 38 m tall Šútovský vodopád.
The Martin area
Thanks to its position the city offers excellent opportunities for sports and recreation. In the summer season there are good conditions for water sports at the newly reconstructed swimming pool as well as an open water area on the border of Vrútky and Lipovec. Hiking paths lead from Vrútky to Mincol, with a continuation to Martinské hole, or the Castle of Strecno.
Another tourist route leads to Klacianska Magura with a possibility to reach Panošiná, or to get on the route to Malý Fatranský Kriván and Velký Fatranský Kriván as far as Šútovský waterfall. Cycle-tourism is supported by interesting cycle-routes from Vrútky through the villages at the foot of the Malá Fatra natural park with the possibility to go on to Orava and Liptov

In february 2011 we spent a week in this well equipped holiday resort and were quite impressed with the beautiful mountains we were surrounded by. We did lots of skiing and enjoyed the local thermal spas. |
Guestbook for The Three Chalets - see video
Me and my friends (12 people) rented 2 of the Chalets for 1 week to spend New Year's Eve and believe me, we had a great luck about it. We thought, we will have difficulties to find the spot, but even with a simple map it's quite easy. We had lots of snow during our holiday, went to beautiful ski resorts in the area ( which are quite close by the way ). There is a huge 24-h open store 5min with a car. The owners are very nice, kind and open-minded people. They helped us with everything we needed. The Chalets are new, very well-maintained, well-heated and fully equiped. We spend a great time around the BBQ. You can go there either to relax or to have fun. Actually we had a mix of both! So don't consider it too long. Just go there!
We had a fantastic family skiing holiday. The properties were well equiped and clean. The owners provided good local knowledge of where to ski and enjoy the local spas. We will definately return.
We stayed at Martin in August 2010 and rented all 3 chalets. We spent our holiday as a large group of 24 people in total as a mixture of adults and children. The accomodation more than exceeded our expectations and was to a very high standard and very spacious to accomodate 24 people.
The views from the chalets were lovely with lots of trees and beautiful views and set in a tranquil setting.
There was lots to activities to suit all ages, the whole family enjoyed relaxing at the local spa (only a 15 minute drive away and very reasonable prices for admission to the spa and the spa treatments), and the owners also recommended fantastic places to visit such as the traditional salt caves, a beautiful castle, a zoo and visiting the picturesque Tatra mountains.
The owners were great hosts and very welcoming to answer any questions. All together a very lovely place to stay and we'll definately be returning for another large group holiday.
We have taken our family for skiing holidays to Slovakia to Martin and were pleased to find lots of snow there. Martin is great spot for discovering central Slovakia: nearby great ski-resorts for advance skiiers, but also beginners and wide choice of spas & aqua parks.
Own car is definitely recommended as the cottages are located on the hill at the edge of village. No need to look for a pub in the evening as there is a small bar and entertainment area that is available for the guests by the owners :-) Great place for family and friends get-together holidays.
We have really enjoyed our holidays in Slovakia and are definitely planing to come back as there is so much more to see and do!
My friends and I recently decided to go on a girlie break with a difference, we started in Prague and jumped on a convenient train over to Slovakia. It was very cheap and an excellent way to see more of the country.
The cottages themselves are absolutely beautiful and I don't feel the website pictures do them any justice. We had a choice of which cottage we would like as there are three identical cottages, all equally equipped and spectacularly clean.
The cottages are based in a quiet residential area with beautiful mountain settings, the view was spectacular and we weren't too far a drive from anything.
I will say the only draw back is that you will need a car to get about but after a days skiing or enjoying yourself at the Spa the bar facilities laid on by the owners should suit your every need and the kitchen in the cottage was well equipped with everything you will need to cook with along with the TV in case you get bored.
I would say this is a ideal location for almost everybody and worth a visit.
A weekend away with the girls felt like a week after an easy time in Slovakia. We had an amazing holiday, the snow was awesome and the cottage we stayed in was incredible.
With easy access to the ski slopes (as long as you’ve got a car and snow chains handy, though I'm sure there was a ski lift but it was out of order when we were there) you can while away the day in the white knowing you haven’t got far to go to get back and warm yourself up with a nice cuppa at the cottage.
There’s also a wonderful spa a little drive away from the cottages. After a day of getting sore spots on the ski slopes, the treatments and the warm pools are a great way to unwind and chill out!
The cottages themselves are gorgeous and beautifully finished, they have all the facilities you could possibly need and I agree with the previous post, the photos hardly do it justice.
Do yourself a favour and get out to these cottages in Slovakia, you won’t regret it!
