This lovely apartment is very bright & airy with the morning sun streaming into the livingroom. A tastefully furnished apartment which is an ideal base for small family holidays or a quite holiday for couples wanting to relax and get away from it all.
Situated in an unspoilt area of Lazio which is ideal for swimming, boating, hiking, biking, or just exploring. The quite peaceful town of Marta on the shore of Lake Bolsena, is a old fishing town. It has all the ameneties you would require. There are local restaurants, bakeries, bars for your morning cappuccino, supermarket and many festivals throughout the summer. There are many interesting places within 1hrs drive. Orvieto, Tarquinia, Tuscania to name but a few.

The Lazio region
Northern Lazio is a beautiful unspoilt region close to the boarder of Umbria & Tuscany. There are many interesting places within a 1hr drive. Orvieto 40 mins Montefiascone 10 mins, the summer home of several Popes is also famouse for its est! est!! est!!! wine. Civita di Bagnoregio 30 mins.
Tarquinia is one of the best preserved centres of ancient Etruscan civilization. Marta is an ideal location if you just want to relax & enjoy the beaches around the lake, then in the evening enjoy the many local restaurants. You could relax in one of the thermal springs located around Viterbo 15 mins away. There is something to suit every one in this area.
Marta area
There are many local festivals throughout the summer, the main festa is the Barabbata on the 14th of May every year. The week after, is the festa di laterina. You can enjoy the lake fish, laterina, coregone, eel. Cannaiola is local red wine, cannaiola festa is in July. The weekly Thursday market or the week-end markets in the summer. Visit the grotto where the image of the Madonna has appeared.
Many cyclists & hikers holiday in this area, there is a road that takes you around the lake. The views are magnificent, take a pic-nic to one of the beaches which are all open to the public, there is no charge. You can rent a boat or relax & swim in the clean waters of the lake.
How to get there
The property is located approximetly 90km from Rome there are 2 main airports, Fiumicino airport approx 90km from Marta & Ciampino approx 110km.
Ryan Air, Easy Jet, Alitalia, British Airways. fly into these airports.
All the major car hire companys are located at the airports.
Viterbo which is 15 mins away has 2 mainline train stations with trains leaving every hour to Rome, & other destinations. There are Hertz Avis & Eurocar rentals located in Viterbo as well as local taxis. The main port for Rome is Civitavecchia 50km. Again it is easy to rent a car from any of these locations.

The living room is furnished with a settee 2 arm chairs, dining room table that seats 4 extends to seat 8. there is a TV, video /DVD player. Radio with tape & CD player, there are films & CD's for your use. The living room looks out onto a small balcony with plants.
There is charger for nokia phones, a charger for braun electric toothbrush. + adapters for U.K. & North American plugs.

It was wonderful, we just didn't want to leave. Loved the spa's & our days just enjoying the countryside.
The lake is sooooo beautiful, & so peaceful can't wait for our next visit.
