This spacious apartment at Port Rive Gauche in Marseillan port, Languedoc Roussillon, epitomises luxury, stylish living and enjoy the most fantastic lagoon and sea views from a spacious shaded balcony. It is one of several we have available.
It sleeps four people comfortably in 2 bedrooms, but would be ideal for just a couple looking for a romantic holiday or a celebration of a special event. A cot and a high chair for a baby are available upon request.
Newly converted from an ancient wine store, this apartment, which is one of eight in total, is very well-designed and has the most magnificent view of the Etang de Thau, the Mediterranean sea, and the port of Sete and the Mont St Clair in the distance. These apartments on the first and second floors have lovely covered balconies.
This apartment is large, 80 to 95 square metres in size, with 2 bedrooms; one a double, the other with twin beds and a bathroom with a separate WC. There's an open plan living area complete with fully-equipped kitchen and a large balcony.
It is fully air-conditioned in summer and heated in the cooler months.
The decor and soft furnishings of the apartment features natural shades, with the blue of the sea forming the perfect background.
Little luxuries include a flat screen satellite TV and DVD, an iPod docking station, free WiFi and a hairdryer. A continental breakfast can be ordered from the Reception, at supplementary cost, and delivered to your door.
Port Rive Gauche is located facing the lagoon and the sea at the entrance to the very lovely port of Marseillan and you can eaily walk to the many restaurants and the shops there.
When you want to spend some time on the beach Marseillan Plage is just 10 minutes away by car or in the high summer there is a bus which runs from the town to the beach on a regular basis.

The living room, dining area and kitchen are all open plan to each other with plenty of windows allowing lots of light to penetrate and wonderful views out over the lagoon and the sea. This spacious room is beautifully designed and decorated and offers a good level of comfort.
Comfortable sofas and armchairs are provided together with a flat screen satellite TV, DVD player and Bose ipod dock. There is also a cordless telephone, call charges are payable at the reception.
Photos: The photos provided are a good examples and typical of the apartments here but they are not contractual.
The kitchen is fully equipped with ceramic hob, multifunction oven, dishwasher, kettle and electric coffee maker, toaster, cookware and kitchen utensils. A washing machine is located in a separate laundry area, available to guests for a small charge.
There are two comfortable bedrooms stylishly decorated and air-conditioned; one is a double room with a king size bed (180cms x 200cms), and the other is a twin-bedded room. Both the bedrooms overlook the Etang de Thau.
There is one bathroom with a washbasin and a bathtub with shower over, or a separate shower. The WC is separate.
As well as a staircase the apartment is accessible by a lift.

The apartment has a spacious shaded balcony accessed from the apartment via French windows. The outside space is equipped with a good quality dining table, 4 chairs, a parasol and sun-loungers.
Parking: There is free street parking available to the side and rear of the apartments. If you wish to use the secure on-site underground car park, there is a supplementary parking charge of 10 euros per night or 50 euros per week. Please note the spaces are for small and medium size cars; they are not suitable for large cars and 4 x 4's. We recommend that you book your undercover parking, if required, at the time of placing your booking, for the current sterling equivalent - please enquire.
Internet: A WiFI internet connection is available for use with your own laptop. There is no charge for the WiFi.
Telephone: A cordless phone is provided. Any calls are charged to your apartment and are payable at the Reception.
Baby Facilities: A cot and a high chair for a baby is available upon request.
Air Conditioning/Winter Heating: The apartment has reversible air-conditioning and heating - the cost is included in the rental price.
Electric and Water: are included in the rental price.
End of stay cleaning: Is included in the rental price except for the kitchen which you are requested to clean yourselves before departure.
Bed and Bathroom Linen: are included in the rental price.
Extra Facilities: Continental breakfast can be ordered at the Reception which is delivered to your apartment - the guide price is 12.50 euros per adult, 8 euros for a child.
Taxe de Sejour: In France it is necessary to pay a Taxe de Sejour at the end of your stay. It is payable here on arrival at the guide rate of 44 centimes per person per night.
Damage Deposit: The owners request a damage deposit of 500 Euros payable in cash or by credit card on arrival. It will be refunded to you at the end of your stay less the replacement cost of any breakages or damage.
Long weekend stays and mini breaks: Please enquire for the price and availability of shorter stays - minimum 3 nights. Shorter stays possible with Hotel Service rates please enquire.
Pets: are not permitted here, sorry.
The Languedoc-Roussillon region
This part of the Languedoc has a sunny Mediterranean climate tempered a little by this hills and montains. It can be hot in summer and there's ample amounts of sunshine from early spring to late autumn. Now the 3rd most visited region in France by British people, the Languedoc offers something for everyone. Miles of long, sandy beaches, coastal lagoons, vibrant cities such as Narbonne and Montpellier, historical sites such as Carcassonne and the Cathar castles, fabulous scenery, great cuisine and vineyards, vineyards, vineyards.
Marseillan is divided into three parts: the lovely historic port area, the village and the beach resort. It's just a very short walk from the apartment to the port area which has shops, restaurants and the very interesting Noilly Prat distillery (featured in Rick Stein's French Odyssey TV programme). It's a truly delightful spot. The beach is of fine sand and is about 10 minutes away to the south by car. Larger cities and towns in the immediate area include Beziers, Agde/Cap d'Agde, Pezenas and Sete.
Sports Facilities: A wide range of water sports is available at several coastal resorts in the region e.g. sailing, scuba diving, wind surfing etc. If you like to play a round of golf, there's a fine golf course at Cap d'Agde. Walking and cycling are both very enjoyable pursuits.
Activities: There's a wealth of things to see and do in this area for example in Sete you can see the nautical jousting tournaments in July and August. Alternatively you can hire a boat at various locations on the Canal du Midi, visit the ancient and interesting city of Agde, museums, abbeys and churches. Further afield: Narbonne, Carcassonne, Beziers and even a day trip to Spain is easily possible. A lovely day out would be to visit to Pezenas, a fascinating place full of history and interest and where Moliere wrote his plays. For nightlife and nightclubs - visit Cap d'Agde.
Markets: The market in Marseillan is on a Tuesday morning. Sunday is the day for the flea market at Marseillan Plage.
Restaurants: There are many lovely restaurants for you to enjoy in Marseillan Port and you can find more details of these at the Reception desk. Seafood is a local speciality and should be tried and enjoyed with a glass of the local wine!
Supermarket: There are many small shops in Marseillan including a supermarket. For a larger supermarket, you'll find one in Agde or in Sete.
