The Island of Gozo region

Gozo is a small Island so by car you can travel to any destination in 15 mins. Gozo has 35 miles of varied and spectacular coastline. Its rural landscape has hills, deep valleys and rugged cliffs giving natural shelter to the island's small harbours and inlets.

And life ambles along, centred around the small farming and fishing communities here. Privacy and seclusion are of course easy to find - and the baroque architecture you'll find in many of the of the small villages adds charm to the leisurely way of life.

Gozo has stable weather conditions - warm in winter, hot in summer. In springtime the valleys are carpeted in wild flowers (which help to distract attention from the heat); July and August are the months for fiestas: every village puts on lavish celebrations in honour of their patron saints

Seaside restaurants will serve you fish caught only hours before, alongside fresh vegetables locally grown and delicious Gozo bread. Together with a bottle of local wine, you can expect to pay around €13.00 for a substantial meal. For lunch or a snack, the Italian influence of pizza and pasta are of excellent quality or try the local specialities - Timpana and Bragioli. >

Even though Gozo is pretty small, there are a certain number of small shops, mini-markets and lately some renowned European chain outlets have also opened in Gozo. In Victoria's main square, (Just 10 min drive by bus) Pjazza Indipendenza, is a traditional open market. Shops generally open Monday to Fridays between 08:00 – 12:30 and 16:00 – 19:00. Saturdays, most shops open only till 12:00. Look out for Gozo Lace and Gozo Glass

Just cross the very quite road to stroll on the lovely promenade along the sea front. Lovely Children's play area along the promenade with lots of fun to be had on the swings, slides and lots more... Laze on the beach on the long hot summer days. Relax in the warm sunshine of September and October. Visit the impressive salt pans at Marsalforn Bay,They are a must to see. Ramala Bay, this beautiful beach with it golden sands is just 10 minutes by car or Bus from the apartment.

There are plenty of attractions on the island that children and adults will enjoy, and there are also many festivals and events that take place all year round. Travel the short distance to Malta to enjoy a water park for lots of fun for adults and children alike!

Marsalforn Bay is a typical Gozitan fishing village on the north coast that over the years has developed into Gozo’s most popular seaside resort. This is by far the nicest village on the Island.

Go diving. Go on a harbour cruise. These mostly start from Xlendi / Marsalforn. Go to Ta’Cenc cliffs. Drink and dance at a disco, where all the night-life is! Visit the Azur Window in Dwejra. Rent a mountain bike and cycle around Gozo.

Rent a car and explore. Buy some ‘Gozo Glass’. Go on a ‘karozzin’ (horse drawn carriage). Laze on the beach with family and friends. Go back to the past Ggantija temples in Gozo. Take long walks along the beach front.

Visit: Citadel in Gozo. An open air market in Victoria. The Museum of Archeology . Citadel Cinema in Victoria. Salt pans in Qbajjar. Nadur war shelter.shrine of Ta' Pinu in Gozo. Rent a yacht and sail round the island. Organize a day trip by catamaran to Sicily from Malta.

Local minimarkets and a chemist are open 08:00-12:30 and 16:00 - 19:00. Monday to Saturday.
