The Marrakech / Essaouira / Marrakech Region
Marrakech has become the destination for those interested in design, shopping and the naturally exotic. The centre piece in what is widely regarded as North Africa's adventure playground.
In recent decades an increasing numbers of style conscious expats came to the city to invest their money in design ideas, thus creating the mix of ancient tradition and modern chic that epitomizes the place today.
Marrakech, which lies at the foot of the Atlas Mountains in the southwest region of Morocco, enjoys sunny weather all-year round, with hot summers and mild winters. With a sub-Sahara climate, the summers can experience very extreme temperatures, with day and night temperatures varying considerably.
Springtime generally sees temperatures ranging between 15C and 20C, with the period between March and June being the best time to visit.
The highs of 23C in June reach an average of 27C in July and August, with extreme temperatures not uncommon, sometimes as high as 38C.
September and October still see between 8-10 hours of sunshine each day, and cooler average temperatures of 20-24C, with medium levels of humidity. In November the temperature drops to 16C, with lows of 11C and 12C in December and January.
Marrakech City / Gueliz area
Within a ten minute walk or less are a number of attractions including Place Jmaa el Fna, the Medina, Souks, Koutoubia, Ville Nouvelle (Gueliz) Cyber Parc, and the Hivernage which includes Le Comptoir, Jad Mahal and a casino.
A fifteen minute taxi ride brings you to the Marjorelle Gardens, The Palmaerie, Plage Rouge, Beldi Country Club, Oasisara, Bo-zin, Abyssin, Pacha Club and 3 Golf Courses.
One hour away you will be able to relax at the waterfalls in the Ourika Valley, explore the stunning High Atlas Mountains, Barter in traditional Berber marketes, visit Lake Lalla Lakerhoust for watersports and lunching by the lake.
Further afield (2+ Hours) is the picturesque town of Essouira which is ideal for surfing, sunbathing and relaxing. You can also explore the Sahara for trekking and stargazing.

What a fantastic Apartment! If you are looking for a little luxury, I can highly recommend Number 41. Beautifully furnished, spacious and fully equipped, the owners have thought of everything for comfort and convenience. In the most fantasic location only a 10 minute walk to the Djemaa el Fna and the souks, and about five minutes into modern Gueliz. I wouldn't stay anywhere else - Anna Gardiner
