The Marrakech/Essaouira region

Marrakech is the fourth largest city in the northwest African nation of Morocco.

The red walls of the city, built in 1122-1123, and various buildings constructed in red sandstone during this period, have given the city the nickname of the "Red City" or "Ochre City".

Marrakesh has the largest traditional Berber market (souk) in Morocco, with some 18 souks selling wares ranging from traditional Berber carpets to modern consumer electronics. Crafts employ a significant percentage of the population who sell their products to tourists in the souks.

Visitors to Marrakech can benefit from its location to visit and take in areas of the Atlas Mountains. Other local attractions are the Kutubia Mosque, Al Bahia Palace and the Saadian Tomb

Marrakech City

In 1985, UNESCO declared the old town area of Marrakesh a UNESCO World Heritage Site, raising international awareness of the cultural heritage of the city.

Riad O² is in the heart of the Medina, the old walled city, just a 1 minute walk from the closest car park, 10 minutes from the souks and 20 minutes from the famous Djema El Fnaa which is the busiest square in Africa.

"Great Option for Traveling with Young Kids"

We had an excellent stay at Riad O2 (mini riad Douria). There is a huge terrace for the kids to run around. As most riads are nearly impossible with young kids, we were surprised to find that this one was the most suitable one we've stayed in. The location is excellent and our hosts were friendly. Our only criticism was the bathroom in the Douria suite. It's teeny tiny and really difficult to enter. And a few details were missing (like soap and a towel), but we made do. Overall, I would recommend Riad O2 and would stay here again.
