The Marrakech region

Marrakech, a.k.a the "Red City", is above all a city of drama. Its spectacular setting against the snow-capped High Atlas Mountains lingers long in the minds of most travellers, & the famous Djemaa-el-Fna square provides perhaps the greatest open-air spectacle in the world. Be drawn into a world of frenzied motion, where jugglers & storytellers jostle for position with snake charmers, magicians & acrobats. Your taste buds will lead you to row upon row of open-air food stalls whose smoke fills the air with mouth-watering aromas. Next to Djemaa-el-Fna is the landmark minaret of the spectacular Koutoubia Mosque (enchanting under floodlights at night), in the shadow of which begins Avenue Mohammed V, leading out to the chic & trendy new city: Gueliz.

Marrakech's cosmopolitan population, its businesses & its tourist attractions are growing day-by-day, in fact many people predict that it will become the new Dubai.

The climate is hot & sunny all year round (except December/January maybe) with temperature ranging from 25 - 45 C, so its an ideal sunshine get-away from cold English weather.

Moroccan restaurant/café specialitys such as Tajine, Couscous, Harira soup, Harsha bread, Mint tea etc will make you want to come back again & again just for this fine cuisine. In fact there is a complete variety of foods available from all around the world within 5mins walk of Palazio & you can afford to eat out everyday as typically it only costs 30dirhams (£2) per head.

How to get there

Only 5/10 mins taxi ride from Marrakech Airport, fare approx 100dirhams.
