Home description

The living room has been furnished in the Moroccan style. The kitchen is well equipped.The flat is 86m2 very pleasant and convenient for getting around and restaurants are within reach as well as cyber cafes. Additionally, this apartment has also two balconies with tables and chairs overlooking the garden.

The location of this property is also great; you can find small shops, cafes and restaurants within walking distance as well as two banks and chemists all located nearby. There is a local Hammam (steam bath) where one can relax. Ain Iti is between the Palmeraie and Bab Doukala (coach station) and the old medina (old city).
Any taxi ride to Jama Lafna takes 10mn and costs about a pound (£1=13DH/12DH).

The Marrakech region

Marrakech, or the red city of Morocco, is well known for its famous square Jemaa el-Fna and its horse carriages that can take you around the city within an hour. Near the square one can find small shops selling dates, spices, olives, handycraft jewellery, carpets as well as hand made leather goods from slippers to handbags.

You can also enjoy and relax in the sights of of Al Garab (man in traditional clothes, selling water) and folk dancers known as Gnawa.

Marrakech can be visited any time of the year as it offers both the sun as well as the snow on the Atlas mountains of the sky resort Oukaimden.


Marrakech City area

There are nice swimming pools and riding schools nearby as well as camel rides. Not to mention the quad bikes for those looking for exciting rides around the Palmeraie. There is a nice hammam near the residence for those who want to relax and visit a Turkish bath or a spa.

The surroundings are not far from cafes, restaurants and local shops. Two banks are just round the corner as well as cyber cafes and teleboutiques to get phone cards or simply phone relatives and friends. It takes under 20mn to get to the centre and find nightclubs and bars.


How to get there

By taxi from the airport (20mn) or lift given for coming and leaving the flat. Most airlines go to Marrakech: Easy jet, Atlas-Blue and Royal Air Maroc.

The living room consists of large settees with Moroccan stools and a round table to sit 4 to 6 people. Both bedrooms have wardrobes and side tables with side lamps. The bed linen is provided with sheets and blankets according to the season as well as towels. Its very clean and tidy.

Further details outdoors:
The flat has two balconies. The surroundings are very safe as there are wardens day and night. The car park is secure.
You can find small shops, cafes and restaurants within walking distance as well as two banks and chemists.
You can walk to the local market ,souk al khamiss. The Majorel gardens of Yves St Laurent are not far as well as Bab Doukala where you can find the coach station to travel to other cities. At the Palmeraie you can take a camel ride or hire a quad. The theme park Osaria is about 8km away, not far from the airport.
You can find tennis courts and swimming pools in the nearby hotels.


Further details

The rent is paid in pound sterling and at the start of the tenancy. A minimum of a day deposit is required and refunded at the end of the stay.
I have to stress that this flat will suit a couple with one or two children or two couples. Not suitable for a group of young men. Retired couples are welcome.

For people wishing to stay long term (1 month and over) the monthly payment would be £600. The weekly rate is for 6 nights or £37/42 a night. Rates are per group of people (maximum 4)

Two English couples stayed there and were very pleased with the flat and the area. Another couple met their family from Morocco and enjoyed their stay very much.
