Guestbook for Villa Zainab
"A superbly spacious, wonderfully stylish and extremely well appointed villa in a great location - perfect for the Medina and the new town"
Mr Andy Hadham and Family, August 2008
"We had a splendid time in Marrakesh in October! Our children and our grandchildren had a lot of fun. Especially in the swimming pool..."
Mr Peter Kars and Family, October 2008
"Ideally situated and beautifully furnished villa. Jamal was very welcoming and helpful. He also speaks excellent English. The Maid Nadia was friendly and happy to cook meals for us when requested and kept the Villa clean and tidy. Both contributed to making our holiday great experience. Very Recommended"
Mr Steve Murphy, December 2008
"We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at villa Zainab. We went as a large group with a mixture of children, teenagers and adults, yet the villa appealed to each one of us. The villa was very clean and spacious and the children loved playing in the pool, while we relaxed in the pool side lounge. The cook there was extremely helpful and made extemely lovely food, this made our stay even more comfortable as we did not have to worry about eating out every-day.
I would definitely be returning to villa Zainab and will also be recommending it to friends and family. It is situated away from the hustle and bustle of the city, but only takes about 10-15mins to get there by taxi.
Villa Zainab is a brilliant place to stay!
Dr G B D Patel and Family May 2009
"Holiday was fab thanks everyone enjoyed and would love to come back."
Ashley Bryant and family June 2009
"Villa Zainab was a beautiful well kept villa. We were very comfortable and were well looked after by the house keeper Nadia . During the day we went for trips with Jamel who was an excellent guide and by evening we relaxed by the pool and enjoyed the beautiful villa . The villa is situated in a nice district in the new city but was never far from the hussle bustle of the medina. This villa is highly recommended for a family trip to morocco."
Dr KJ Makanjuola and Family July 2009.
"Thank you very much for loaning your villa out to us we all enjoyed our stay very much in the villa. We found the villa was very spacious and we were not in each others way as two families, the kids loved the pool and would have stayed and slept in it if they had their way. We had no problem with Nadia she was brilliant and the kids loved her can you please thank Nadia sincerely again from all of us when you see her again.
Jamal was also fantastic again he was fantastic with the children and the places he took us to visit were very much enjoyed by all of us, very prompt and he would come any time of the day, because we found it cooler in the square at night he did come and take us in the evening as well. Can you please also thank Jamal sincerely from all of us as well.
Morocco itself was a great experience we did enjoy it though and would consider a holiday there again."
Asani Kholwadia and family. July/August 2009
"We had a great holiday in Marrakesh and perhaps the best part of it was to have been able to come back to the serene and private villa after long days exploring the city. The property was beautifully decorated, modern, and spacious and the pool was great fun! The maid, Nadia, kept the place clean and tidy and cooked lovely meals for us when required. The location was good, with a supermarket just outside the back door and the central areas a short taxi ride away. We were not disappointed and would gladly recommend this property to friends and family"
Shopna and family September 2009
"To be honest, I am normally too lazy to do reviews of anything, but this villa was just too good not to review. A very friendly owner was just the start of what was an amazing experience. I was lucky enough to stay in the master bedroom which was massive and beautifully set out. The best thing I can say is just to go there and experience it yourself! You won't be dissappointed. Oh yeah, Marrakech was pretty cool as well!"
Deno and friends October 2009
"All 10 of us had the most amazing holiday staying at Villa Zainab in Marrakech! And I would even go as far as saying that it was one of the best holidays each of us has ever experienced. With the lovely decor of the villa and each room being so incredibaly decorated, it really made us all feel like we were experiencing the 'real' Morocco.
We were extremely happy with the services that came with booking this villa. One of these was our personal driver/tour guide, who on one day took us all to explore the Atlas Mountains! Anything we needed Jamal was there to help. It was also fantastic having our very own cook, Nadia, who prepared us freshly cooked Moroccon dishes every evening which were absolutely beautiful!!! And I also must mention the tasty Moroccon pancakes and all the freshly baked pastries we had for breakfasts!
It was wonderful having our very own pool as some of the days we did not particularly feel like venturing out so lounging around the pool area, in the glorious Moroccon sun, was brilliant!
I must also mention that the villa is in a very convenient location and easily accessible to all the main tourist attractions.
I would highly recommend this villa to anyone considering to visit Marrakech. I will definitely be returning, as will, the other nine people in our group.
Thank you very much again, Ngawang!! See you next year.
From all 9 of us Aussies and the 1 token pommie. :) "

“The owner was friendly, informative and ensured we would have everything we would need, including airport transfers, car seats, high chair and cot. We were a party of 10, age from 1 to 70 and every single one of us had an excellent time mostly due to the beautiful villa and wonderful Nadia. We all wanted to bring Nadia home with us. She prepared us lovely breakfasts and the best meals we ate while we were there.
Jamal was always on hand to show us the sights and really went out of his way to make sure we saw everything we wanted.
The villa is stunning with everything you need and much more besides. I am so glad I researched the holiday properly and chose this property as the holiday would have been nowhere near as successful if we had stayed elsewhere. It truly is the best non-hotel accommodation that I have stayed in and Nadia is the best compliment to a holiday that you could ask for. We miss her."
Emma De Broekert and family November 2009
"We very much enjoyed our stay at the Villa Zainab. The villa is very well appointed with lovely fixtures, fittings and furniture and ensured a relaxing stay. The living spaces are charming, the bedrooms spacious and very lovely bathrooms. Nadia who is the housekeeper is helpful and cooked lovely Moroccan meals for us. There is a little shop opposite the house, where you can buy all the essentials and that made the self catering aspect very easy. Those with very young children do be aware that there are numerous flights of stairs and internal terraces which require a bit of vigilance. We found it easy to get to the Medina and often walked there, but it was far more pleasant from a family perspective to be slightly on the outskirts. Overall we very much enjoyed our stay and would recommend it for family visits. "
Joanne and family December 2009
"I reviewed this villa many times before I actually booked it and compared it with others as the price was a little over what I wanted to pay but am so glad we booked it ... it was worth every single penny.
The villa owner was fantastic right from the start. He was in constant contact and answered anything I needed to know to get the holiday off to a great start.
Airport transfers and evening dinner was arranged as we arrived late.
The villa has absolutely everything you would need and more. My children aged 16 and 14 took a friend each and they absolutely loved it. They especially loved the living area with flat screen tv ... this was a great place for them to relax after being out for the day watching MTV or a dvd bought from one of the nearby stalls.
The villa is very tastefully decorated and so spacious it really has to be seen to be believed how big it is ... the pics really don’t do it justice to be honest. The master room was just fabulous. It had its own living room area with fireplace and television, large four poster bed with massage table at the foot, an outdoor terrace with trendy wicker furniture - this was a great place to watch the hectic Morrocan life from! Also a fully fitted bathroom with very large oval bath and separate shower area ... very pleasurable!
The pool area was my favourite ... it has the most relaxing place by the side of the pool to just chill out. I want to go back!
Nadia the housekeep was a sweetie .. she will cook for you whenever you like and whatever you want. She has recipe books for you to choose your meals from but will cook whatever you like. She also cooked pancakes for us twice for breakfast which was delicious!
Not a minute of our holiday was wasted as we had Jamal and Ayoub looking after us and arranged something each day for us all to do.
There is a small supermarket right outside the villa which sells all the essentials ... very handy and the larger supermarket is a short car ride away. There is also an ATM about five minutes walk away too.
All in all we had a fantastic time and will definitely return. "
Karen and family, Preston, February 2010
"My friends and I, had an amazing holiday! We found the Villa online and hesitated originally because it was a little more expensive than what we had in mind. However it turned out to be better than we could have hoped for.
The villa is beautiful and the description online almost doesn't do it justice. It is situated in a nice quiet location but is only a short taxi ride from the main square. The property was immaculate on our arrival and the number of living areas gave us plenty of room for the eight people in our party. The pool and poolside lounge was definitely the hub of the villa on our stay. The pool is a good size and is great for a cool down after some book reading and sun bathing!
Our stay was made even more relaxing because of Jamal and Nadia. Jamal helped organize outings and was also only ever a phone call away. Nadia was such a sweetheart! She made breakfast for us everyday. We also asked her to make us some dinner on a couple of nights and we struggled to find better food at the restaurants in the city.
The villa gave us the option of doing tourist-like things on some days and some relaxing by the pool on the others. Ngawang was great to deal with from start to finish, if I ever return to Marakech I know where I’m staying!"
Peter and 7 friends Scotland June 2010
"My extended family and I enjoyed a great stay at this villa.
The property was spacious and perfectly clean with plenty of room for the children to run about freely and the outdoor space at the rear was great to relax and allow the kids to get some fresh air. The swimming pool was also a good size to take the edge off the heat after a day out in town or exploring the region.
The location was in easy taxi drive of the central areas (square, restaurants and bars, etc) without being imprisoned in the central hustle as might be the case with some of the more central Riads.
Nadia and Ngawang were the perfect hosts. Nadia's home cooking was a treat that must be experienced especially after a long day of sightseeing. I felt comfortable from the moment i walked through the door.
All in all I would recommend this to anyone looking to experience Marrakech. Young couples or extended family together."
Rohan and extended family, London June 2010
"Thank you to Ngawang & Nadia for making our trip to Marrakech so wonderful, Nadia is an amazing cook & the most nicest person, we miss her everyday!!
The Villa was so beautiful, clean, well maintained and centrally located to restaurants & bars. I have already passed on the details of the villa to friends & family who are very much interested.
If you choose to stay in the Zainab Villa you will not be disappointed! :o)"
Parisha and Friends, UK. July 2010
"A beautiful, luxury villa in Marrakech, Villa Zainab more than lives up to the pictures on the internet. It's in a quiet location but within easy walking distance of Gueliz and the medina so you get the best of both worlds.
It totally met our expectations and more. We were travelling with our three young boys aged 7, 5 and 3 and we were very well cared for by the lovely Nadia and Jamal. Nothing was too much trouble. The kids had plenty of room to run and play inside but spent most of their time in the pool. My middle son went out needing to wear armbands and came back having learnt to swim without them and under water as well!
Nadia really looked after us. Cooking some delicious evening meals and arranging breakfast and refreshing mint tea. I made her teach me how to make it – quite an art to it! Just doesn't taste quite the same back in the UK.
Jamal was very welcoming. He picked us up from the airport and drove us around Marrakech on the day we arrived. Also recommended a great restaurant for lunch. We didn't do as much travelling as we had hoped but there's always next time!
We would have no hesitation in recommending Villa Zainab. If you're after a relaxing time, sightseeing, partying or a home-from-home Villa Zainab delivers on all levels.
Thanks Ngawang, Nadia and Jamal"
Nathaniel and family, London July 2010
"A wonderful house, that is every bit as lovely as it looks in the photos. Our holiday was made exceptional by the wonderful Nadia, whose coooking is the best we tasted in Marrakesh, and by the equally wonderful Jamal who ferried us around and acted as our personal tour guide. The villa is a lovely oasis in this fascinating city, and the staff discrete, friendly and a real bonus. The pool was fantastic - couldn't have done without it in the August temperatures!"
Clare and Family, UK, August 2010
"Such a fantastic holiday. Villa Zainab exceded our expections and proved to be the perfect base for exploring this intoxicating city. Just far enough away from the hustle and bustle to completely relax in the refreshing pool and stunning villa but close enough to take full advantage of everything Marrakech has to offer.
Jamal and Nadia were both wonderful, adding a great level of convenience and ease to our stay. Jamal was always on hand when needed, suggesting excursions and helping us arrange car hire. Nadia cooked us some wonderful meals for those quiet nights in. A truly memorable holiday. We look forward to returning for many years to come!"
Rebecca and family, London, September 2010
"This is an elegantly appointed villa tastefully decorated with a good entertainment system. It is within walking distance of many of the main attractions and unlike many other advertised villas you are not isolated in the Palmeria area. The property is clean and well maintained. When we had a problem with the hot water on the first day and with the shower on another day it was quickly sorted. One of the main reasons for choosing this villa was that it had a pool. The guide/driver associated with the house was very pleasant and accommodating.
We were not impressed by the Chez Ali fantasia. We were not able to spend time in the mountains but would recommend trying to fit this in.
Overall we had a lovely relaxing time and would definitely recommend this villa as a good cost-effective option to a Riad hotel.
P.S Moroccan wines (reds) are rather good."
Dr Gary M. and extended family, UK October 2010
This villa looked lovely in the reviews - and it was. Ngawang, the owner, gave us lots of information and has a delightful housekeeper, Nadia, who will buy your breakfast and cook dinner for you at cost price. Jamal, the tour guide, knows everyone, organises anything and gives good advice. He's good, decent company too so we felt in safe hands in an unfamiliar country. The villa's rooms are great, it's clean, well maintained with a lovely little pool. We took a trip to the Atlas Mountains with Jamal which was wonderful. If you're thinking of visting Marrakech but are a bit worried about where to start, start here - you'll love it.
Lucy and Family, London October 2010
"My family & I had a wonderful restful week in this beautiful villa. It was lovely to met by the owner Ngawang, who gave us some helpful hints & tips to make the most of Marrakech. Nadia was wonderful and looked after us very well, I was unsure about someone else being around, but need not have been, Nadia was very sweet and not intrusive at all, she even showed us how to make the famous mint tea which is very popular!! Just one thing...the pool in unheated so we hardly used it. Would it be possible to use solar heating to resolve this at least in the "cooler" months? February temperatures were however perfect for us pale / pasty brits!
Overall highly recommended."
Debbie and Family, Isles of Scilly, February 2011
"Wow is really the best word to describe our trip to Villa Zainab. We stayed here for 3 nights in March 2011. For some it was our second trip to Marrakech and others their first. Having been to Marrakech before and stayed in different accommodation we chose Villa Zainab because of it's location in a much more 'trendy' part of the city and because it looked incredible in the pics! We were not disappointed; we were promptly greeted at the airport by Jamal who took us to the Villa. The owner, Ngawang met us at the Villa where we were also greeted with traditional Moroccan mint tea (freshly picked from the garden may I add!) Ngawang was fab he gave us some amazing recommendations of restaurants and places to visit. The Villa it's self was immaculately presented, all of the rooms were beautiful just like in the photos... Villa Zainab is huge... and has plenty of space even when at full capacity! Nadia was fab she made us a fab breakfast everyday to start the day. I wouldn't hesitate for a second to recommend this villa to a friend and would definitely stay here again. To surmise... perfect location, beautiful decor and second to none customer service... Thank you for an amazing stay. Stephanie :)"
Stephanie and friends, Bristol. March 2011
"We were 8 people staying in Villa Zainab beginning of April, and loved the whole week there. We were greeted by Ngawang and Nadia, and they looked after us so well for the whole stay. Nadia’s food is excellent! The location of the villa is very good, with short walks to downtown Marrakech and only a few minutes by taxi to the Medina. We spent lots of time outside by the pool, and as temps soared to 35 the pool came in handy! Ngawang also organized excursions to the Atlas mountains (Ourika Valley) and to the coastal town Essaouira. Two different trips and worth the day. Marrakech is a very busy place and very hectic. The Medina and Jemaa-el-Fna is a must! It was great to come back to the tranquility of the villa after a day and evening there! One evening we had a belly dancer in the house as a surprise for our 25th anniversary wedding day! Again organised through Ngawang. Would strongly recommend Villa Zainab!"
Reidar and Friends, Norway, April 2011
"Facilities were excellent with everything one needed on arrival. The pre ordering of an evening arrival meal cooked by Nadia was a great bonus. Nadia’s cooking was very good and her quiet unassuming presence in the kitchen a pleasure. Overall the villa is well situated away from the hustle and bustle of the city but within easy walking or taxi distance of the main sights Ngawang was a mine of information and recommendations--all of it good. I have no hesitation in recommending this villa to my friends. Two minor suggestions--provision of an extra set of keys and more powerful bedside reading lights."
Maurice from Oxford, UK and friends from Oslo, Norway March 2011
"8 of us stayed in the Villa at the end of May for my hen do. The weather was beautiful, great company and the Villa was the perfect place for us to stay. So beautifully decorated and more than enough room for us all. We would spend the day lazying by the pool and head up to the sun terrace early evening- glorious! We had a few meals cooked by Nadia- they were delicious! the lovely smells coming from the kitchen are the only sign that she is there! She really looked after us. Ngawang made our trip! He was very patient will lots of emails from the girls before we arrived trying to arrange surprises for me, including camel riding, shopping, spa treatments, restaurants and even a belly dancer to arrive at the villa and teach us all to dance! Brilliant! We had the best time and mostly down to Ngawang's fantastic advice and organisation. I would recommend the Lotus Club- we had a great meal there and a good atmosphere. The villa is in an ideal location far enough away from the hustle and bustle of the centre but only 10 minutes in a taxi. There is a lovely bakery for day time treats just down the road and a convenience store opposite. I would definitely recommend the villa it is the ideal location and you will be looked after from start to finish. Thanks you so much for our fabulous trip- i will never forget my Marrakesh hen do and hope to return one day!"
Lucy and friends, Reading UK may 2011
“I have to admit I am generally quite lazy when it comes to writing reviews, however there is no way I could pass up the opportunity to review Villa Zainab. The villa is absolutely beautiful, huge, even at maximum capacity you would still find somewhere to hide away. The decor is stunning - exactly how you would picture the perfect Moroccan paradise. In fact I could wax lyrical about it all day as there are literally no negatives. The pool is amazing, we were in it at every available opportunity! If you are thinking of booking a villa - this is the one. The location is fantastic, close enough to be a taxi ride from anywhere you want to be, the western shops of Gueliz or the intoxicating markets and souks of the square. Taxis were literally on our doorstep. If you have found this page you are a lucky person, all 8 of us had the most amazing time of our lives here. Its perfect for any occasion - Ngawang and Nadia were the perfect hosts. Ngawang really took the time to make sure we had the experience of a life time in Marrakech - the Hammam he took us to was the most relaxing, unforgettable experience! All his recommendations were perfect and Nadia's food is the best in Morocco in my opinion! If you like nightclubs - Marrakech is the place for you, Theatro was the best night out I think I've ever had! We went to Nikki Beach - pricey but totally worth it - if you want to spoil yourselves it is pure luxury. The square is also an experience I will never forget, so vibrant and full of wonderful people, I wanted to buy everything!! We had a belly dancer come to the villa - arranged by Ngawang and was so much fun. Marrakech is without a doubt one of the best places I have ever visited, all of us 8 girls fell in love with it. You have to go to Marrakech and you have to go here, I can promise you, it will be one of the best experiences of your life. I can't thank Ngawang enough for making our time in Morocco so special."
Jade and friends, June 2011. Buckinghamshire UK.
"This was our family's first trip to Morocco and we were not sure what to expect. Right from the start, we knew we had picked the right place. The house was large, clean, comfortable, and very well appointed. The pool was perfect for all-day and evening swims. Our host, Ngawang, ensured that we were taken care of from food, to massages, to transportaiton, to tours (both local and remote). He introduced us to an excellent guide, Jamal, who led us on adventures in the Atlas mountains, Berber villages, and even a night of camping in the Sahara. Somehow, our entire family, including our 4, 6, and 7 year old children had a wonderful, unforgettable night in the Sahara, thanks to Jamal. I cannot recommend this villa more highly. I cannot wait to return."
Mary and extended family, USA August 2011
This villa is perfect for families or group of friends. I have personally rented with a group of 7 girls who loved it. The most we have enjoyed is the outside space with the Pool especially when we wanted to stay away from the hectic medina center but still enjoy the sun. The breakfast was great and the housekeeper was really sweet as although it is normally a continental breakfast in the menu, she has kindly prepared for us some morrocan specialities... really delicious... The villa is really beautiful and so spacious that we didnt feel at anytime living on top of each other. (rented for 5 days so you can imagine :)). The Villa is well looked after and extremely clean. It is located in one of the nicest part of marrakech "Jardin d'Yves Saint Laurent": yes, the fashionable and memorable French haute couture designer. Furthermore it is a very calm area with a neighbourhood (all beautiful villas around). The location is great as we also had a supermarket, chemist at literally 25 meters from the Villa. But most of all, the owner of the villa is a really nice gentlemen who gave us a nice warm welcoming and explained to us the places to go. He also organised for us the transport return from the aeroport to the villa which really makes life easy (and included in the rent cost). We also used the transport services available through the villa to go out at night and enjoy the evening. It was really great as the driver stayed with us the whole evening and drove us back whenever we were ready to go home. The service was prompt, professional and just excellent. I strongly recommend the rental of the Villa because: 1. The owner is a true gentleman; 2. The villa is paradisiac with the outside space (rare to find in center marrakech); 3. The cost of the villa is really reasonable considering the rarety of finding a villa to rent in marrakech center; 4. Walking distance to everywhere (Medina, supermarket, gueliz...); we rarely took a taxi unless we were really really exhausted and that was more because of late nights than sunny and wonderful marrakech; 5. Very spacious and therefore allows privacy when needed; 6. Pool very clean and magical at night with all the lights around; 7. breakfast available and included (so practical to start the day like this) 8. transport service very good and reasonably priced; 9. what else can I say other then I will defenitely rent this villa again. Enjoy the morrocan life style.... Yours sincerely, SAMIRA September 2011, Southsea UK.
"Towie girls on tour"
I recently rented Villa Zainab for 3 nights with a group of 8 other girls we can thoroughly say we loved it. For the first couple of days we enjoyed the outside space in the sun and most of us went into the Pool it was cold but was lovely after sitting in the sun for awhile. The breakfast was continental enough to get us started in the morning. The evening we arrived I had arranged in advance a home cooked meal by the housekeeper Nardia, I would recommend the Leg of Lamb and the Tagine all was great food The villa is really beautiful and very spacious it is well looked after and extremely clean. The location is great as we had a supermarket, chemist literally 25 meters from the Villa. We also found a Pizzeria down the road. We was greeted at the Villa by the owner Ngawang who is a really nice gentlemen he gave us a nice warm welcoming and explained to us the places to go and asked if we needed any restaurants booking. He also organised the transport to and from the airport which really makes life easy (and also included in the rental cost). We used the transport services available through the villa to go out at night, Abdul and Yousef were great drivers they would drop us off and we would just call when we were ready to be picked up. The service was prompt, professional and excellent. I also arranged an afternoon at LES BAINS DE MARRAKECH Spa this is one of the best in Marrakech it was very relaxing and enjoyable. We ate at Le Comptoir and Le Fondouk the food was good in both but the Le Comptoir had good entertainment and the music was good. Watch out for the Le Fondouk this didn’t have Air Con and by the time our meal arrived nobody felt like eating as we were all too hot, but they do have outside tables. I strongly recommend the rental of the Villa it was good value for money with what comes included and I will definitely be renting this villa again. Hope everyone else does too many thanks to all Nicky and Friends, Essex. UK. October 2011

We provide the services of a full time maid who will clean and prepare breakfast for you daily. We also have a limited menu which is freshly home cooked by our housekeeper. If you wish to eat in the villa then all you do is let Nadia know what choice of menu you require in the morning and she will purchase the ingredients locally and prepare your dish for you. All the ingredients are fresh and bought on the day. If you wish Nadia will also teach you Moroccan cooking as she prepares your meals for you. We have found this very popular with many of our guests as they not only learn to cook Moroccan food but also enjoy home cooked traditional meals.
