The Marrakech region

The Red City is located in the south-east of Morocco, and is the most visited city of this North African country.
Marrakech is a fascinating city with a great history represented by the Koutubiyya, Madrasa Bin Yusuf and the Medina. The city is divided into the old quarter, the Medina, and the ville nouvelle built by the French during the colonial period.

The weather is warm from March onwards and reaches its peak during July-August after which the temperature steadily cools.

Experience one of the Thousand and One Nights in the souks of Marrkech and delight, nearby, in the magical atmosphere of the Jamul Fana where you can enjoy a barbecue or revel in the party atmosphere. Don't forget to visit the 500 year old Madrasa Bin Yusuf, the Saadian Tombs or the famous Kutaibiyya Mosque overlooking the Medina.

How to get there

Thomson fly on Sundays and Wednesdays from Manchester (and also from Luton).
Easy Jet, Atlas Blue fly from London and Luton.

Major car hire companies are represented at the airport.

The complex is 15-20 drive from the airport and s situated on the outskirts of the Medina, near Souk al khmisse close to the main tourist attractions.

There are three bedrooms with four single beds and a double (i.e. 6 sleeping spaces) and a baby-cot.
More sleeping space can be made available for upto 2 more people (please enquire).

All bedrooms are ensuite, equipped with ACs and located on separate floors.

The kitchen has a microwave, cooker, kettle and fridge.

Barbecue in terrace.

Satellite TV for entertainment within the home.

The Riad is located in a self sufficient complex with 24 hour security. There are three swimming pools, catering for adults and children, and there are plans underway to provide a hammam, sauna, pharmacy, shops and a super market.

Arrangements can be made to have a house-maid come and clean the house daily.

• In order to make a reservation, we request 50% of the price in advance, while the rest is to be paid 2 weeks before arrival.
• a refundable £150 security deposit required with final balance payment.
We can accept payments by cheque or bank transfer in GBP or Euros.
• Keys to be collected on location.
• Extra sleeping arrangements for upto 2 more people can be made (£60-80)

Guestbook

We went and have come back having had a most enjoyable holiday. The weather was perfect every day, La Fondouk's roof top terrace was great for Christmas lunch and went on expeditions with a really nice driver, in fact everyone we met in Marrakech and in the country were nice, cheerful and really went out of their way to be helpful. Too cold for the grandchildren to swim so they went skiing and camel riding in the desert.

Just a quick line to thank you for six very enjoyable days at Al Qaria Assiyahia. It is a beautiful house and we were thrilled to revisit Marrakech and show it to our children, who had never been to Morocco - they really loved it.

Khalid was charming and extremely helpful - such a nice young man. He even drove us to the airport at 5.30am yesterday! Please pass on our thanks and regards when you next speak to him.
