About the home

Set on the south-east coast of Turkey where the Aegean Sea meets the Mediterranean, the resort of Icmeler is a pretty resort, surrounded by mountains and trees with interesting walking trails. The town is well kept and there is a clean sandy beach.

This luxury apartment is on 2 levels, the living area is on the first floor where access to the apartment is gained. A marble staircase takes you down to the ground floor where the bedrooms are located

A CHILD GATE FOR THE STAIRS IS FITTED

The 130sq.m. swimming pool is surrounded by ample sun loungers, tables and umbrellas for the 12 apartments that share this area. The exceptionally large terrace is furnished with tables and chairs and there is a built in barbecue for 'al fresco' dining.

The fully fitted kitchen has a door leading to a balcony and is equipped with a fridge/freezer, dishwasher, gas hob, extractor, kettle, combination microwave, toaster, juicer, cutlery, crockery, glassware and cooking utensils. There is also a table and 4 chairs.

The elegant and spacious dining and living area provides ample seating for 6, a large flat screen television with satellite and a DVD player.

En suite bathroom to bedroom 1 with bath/shower over, free standing basin and wc.

Family bathroom has Jacuzzi bath/shower over, wc, and a 5 door built-in cabinet with basin, providing ample storage space and a built in washing machine. First floor shower room with wc and basin.

Leading off the living room is a large balcony with breathtaking views of the mountains. There is an awning over this south - facing balcony should you require some shade from the sun. A circular table and 6 chairs are provided for outside dining. 4 sun loungers and cushions are provided for your comfort.

Cots and high chairs can be hired if required. Due to the layout unfortunately this is not suitable for people with mobility problems or wheelchair users.

All bedrooms have air conditioning, 3 sets of sheets etc per bed, 12 hand towels, 12 bath towels and beach/pool towels provided.

Conditions

A deposit of 15% is required to secure your booking, the balance to be paid 6 weeks before departure. The deposit is non-refundable should you cancel or fail to pay the outstanding balance at the required time. Payment by cheque only, made payable to Mr Frank Barr and Mrs Janet Penney.

The Turquoise Coast/Lycia region

The Turkish Riviera (also known popularly as the Turquoise Coast) is an area of south west Turkey that combines a favourable climate, warm sea, more than a thousand kilometres of shoreline along the Aegean and Mediterranean waters, and abundant natural and archaeological points of interest makes this stretch of Turkey’s coastline a popular national and international tourist destination.

Among the archaeological points of interest are two of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World - the ruins of the Mausoleum of Maussollos in Halicarnassus and the remains of the Temple of Artemis in Ephesus, which can still be seen today.

The Marmaris / Icmeler area

The apartment is located about 2 minutes walk from the centre of Icmeler. There you will find banks, supermarkets and local shops. You will be spoilt for choice regarding the variety of restaurants available to you. Icmeler has excellent facilities for eating, drinking, entertainment and shopping and it is ideal for swimming and water sports. In Icmeler modern, and traditional architecture come together to make this lovely resort an ideal holiday destination.

A 7 minute walk takes you to the magnificent beach. Icmeler is primarily a sun, sea and sand holiday destination with a wide variety of water sports to choose from. Also available are boat trips around the bay of Icmeler and water taxis to Marmaris. Trips to Rhodes, the waterfalls of Pamukkale with their therapeutic spring waters, the archaeological site of Ephesus, horse safaris and Jeep safaris can be booked locally.

The beach promenade is a delightful walk and in fact, you can walk into Marmaris if you are feeling energetic! The picturesque stream that divides Icmeler has a mini shopping market on its’ banks. The locals have their colourful stalls, which sell souvenirs, gifts and handicrafts.

Should you decide to spend the day in Marmaris it could not be easier as you can either travel there by boat or by bus. The buses that travel between Icmeler and Marmaris are orange in colour and leave every 20 minutes.
If you wish to catch one just hold up your hand and the driver will stop for you to embark, the fare is 2 Turkish lire single. The boats for Marmaris leave every 30 minutes from the sea front and the journey takes about 1 hour. This is the coolest way to travel in the height of the season.

The bustling resort of Marmaris, with its attractive yachting marina is a 10 minute drive away. Turunc with its crystal clear waters which have been awarded the European Blue Flag is a 10 minute drive. The municipal centre of Mugla which is famous for its original architecture and colourful weekly market is 70 minutes away. In 60 minutes you can be at Dalyan with its’ Roman city of Caunos and the Turtle Beach.

“MOST RELAXING HOLIDAY EVER” This is the nicest apartment we have stayed in, everything you could ever need was provided and so much space, so nice to be able to go out at anytime of day and have your sunbeds sitting there waiting for you and not have to go home with a ton of washing and cardboard towels. The apartment is in a great position just round the corner to all the shops and restaurants and less than a 10 minute walk to the beach. We would definitely like to rent this apartment again if possible when we come back to icmeler, next year looking at hisaronu but will definitely book private apartments again as don't think we could go back to normal hotels and apartments after being so spoilt this year. Thanks Frank and Janet for a great holiday.

“FANTASTIC” Wow, without a doubt one of our best holidays ever, apartment and pool area superb, resort fantastic, really could not think of one negative point during the entire holiday. We had my 13 year old daughter and my 76 year old father both of whom had a ball, so I can honestly say suitable for all age groups I have been renting villas and apartments privately for years, but for anyone considering it for the first time, be sure you can deal with Frank in complete confidence. Is our praise genuine? Well I am just waiting for confirmation of my holiday dates for 2013 then I am booking for next year.

“Brilliant Accomodation Spoiled Us For Going Anywhere Else” We highly recommend this apartment which is spacious, well equipped, very clean and well maintained, pool and surrounding areas cleaned every night. Perfectly positioned in a quiet spot on the edge of town only short walk to the beach, bars & numerous restaurants. We could not find any faults or dislikes at all and it has certainly spoiled us for going anywhere else.

“All you could ever want!” We have just got back from our stay in Icmeler at these wonderful apartments. The apartment is beautifully decorated and has absolutely everything you could want for a holiday. The apartment is a lovely size and plenty of showers which is a must as we were travelling as a group of 5 ladies!!Also plenty of spare towels and beach towels.The pool is a perfect size and it is maintained very well by the lovely caretaker. Although the apartment is couple of minutes walk from the shops it is very peaceful and quiet. The restaurants and beach are all within easy walking distance so it makes a perfect base. This apartment definitely ticks all the boxes!!

“Excellenct accomodation - great resort” This accomodation is fantastic!! Definately home from home. Pool area lovely and quite peaceful, and apartment furnished to a very high standard. Icmeler is a fantastic place with lots of lovely places to eat and locals are all very friendly.

“Amazing Apartments” These apartments are fantastic. Lots of space and a fantastic size swimming pool with no fighting for sunbeds. Only 12 apartments in total so everyone tends to get to know each other. Only 5 mins to the shops where you can get everything you need. Restaurants 5 - 10 mins away and beach 5 mins. You cannot beat these apartments for location, great central location but you don't get any noise. Lots of good restaurants, even our fussy teenagers found plenty to eat. For a really good night and great meal you have to go to Venice which is by the canal. For fantastic Chinese food and another good night try Majestic which is directly opposite Venice. Only downside of Icmeler is the beach. If you like lovely sandy beaches this is not the place to go. Sand is gritty and not a very pretty beach. Having said that you can get sunbeds for free! If you want to book a boat trip find "Cheeky Bugger" on the front. You won't get a better deal! He can also sort out a great Jeep Safari for you which I would highly recommend.
