Villa | 4 bedrooms | sleeps 8
Villa Han is nestled at the back of Orhaniye Valley, with a slightly raised elevation, allowing for fantastic views of the surrounding mountains, pine forests and down to Orhaniye Bay. The villa is in a very quiet location, with only one neighbour, fields/trees on two sides and a very small road on the other.
Villa Han has a large, 40m2 covered terrace providing shade from the summer sun and views down to the beach in the distance. There are also couches to relax on and an outside dining table for 8 people, to enjoy your al fresco food.
There is a 35m2 pool, which is 1.65 metres in depth. There is plenty of sunbathing space and 8 new wooden sun beds for your use. The pool steps cover all of one side, with half of them in the shade at all times – great for keeping the kids in the pool, but out of the sun.
Villa Han has 4 bedrooms – 2 doubles and two twin rooms, sleeping 8 people. The master bedroom, double room and one of the twin rooms are located on the 1st floor. All bedrooms have balconies, en-suite bathrooms and the twin room has a shower-over-bath. On the ground floor is the remaining twin room, with a shared bathroom.
One of our friends has made a number of one-off, beautiful sketches and water colours, which are hanging throughout the house.
In the open plan living area, Villa Han has a fully equipped kitchen with an adjacent indoor dining area. The lounge has wide comfortable couches, flat screen TV, DVD player, WiFi internet (free) and Ipod docking station. Turkish carpets decorate the floors, and large windows look out over the pool. There are also over 200 reading books for you to make use of during your stay.

The Turquoise Coast/Lycia region
The Aegean area is famous for its warm climate and the warm hospitality of the locals.
Villages surrounding Orhaniye that are well worth a vist include Turgut (carpet making), Selimiye (fishing village), Bozburun (Gulet/yacht building), Hisaronu (Sailing) and Bayir (Honey production).
The busy, cosmopolitan resort of Marmaris is a 20 minute drive - if it's time to shop, or time to party then this is the place!
For history buffs there is the remains of the Bybassos Castle in orhaniye Bay, the ruins of 2 castles in Selimiye, and an amazing archeological site at Knidos (where the Mediterranean meets the Aegean), a 1.5 hour drive from Villa han
Orhaniye is a small picturesque, rural village, situated 25 minutes from Marmaris, on the Bozburun Peninsula, Turkey.
Orhaniye Village itself, is spilt into 3 main areas; the beachfront, with its restaurants, tea houses and pensyions. The rural area to the left of the main road, where most of the locals live and Kecibuku, a sub-village off the main road.
Most of the locals live off the land, which includes bee-keeping, orange, olive and pomegranate groves, herbs and general farming. The village is very green though out the year, owing to a lot of artesian water in the area.
As you come down the hill approaching the village, you will notice the upmarket Marti Marina on your right – the largest marina in this area, outside of Marmaris.
The main residential area, is a real step back in time, where the farmers still walk laden donkeys, kids play football on the “main” road and many people out working in the fields. This area is essentially a fertile valley, with tall pine clad mountains rising up on three sides.
The beachfront area has some lovely restaurants like Luna Begonville, Club Mistral (near the marina) and some terrific local “lokantas” like Coban Restaurant on the main road. There is a small road immediately after Coban, which takes you down to a relaxing beach area, perfect for the kids to swim. There is a selection of 4 or 5 restaurants, all with chill out areas and a beach to choose from. Directly in front of the beach is a small island with the remains of Bybassos Castle.
The beachfront area also includes Kizkumu Beach, which has a sand spit reaching some 500 metres out into Orhaniye Bay. Walking out along this spit is a very popular thing to do and gives the impression that many people are walking on water. Orhaniye is also very popular with yachties, due to its excellent natural anchorage.
The Saturday market is a must-do, and is located in the parking area in front of the mayor’s office, on the main road. Just look for the large white awnings – it’s impossible to miss! You can buy everything from fresh fruit and vegetables, to clothes, shoes, DIY and gardening tools and the tastiest village bread and farm eggs.
Come and visit Orhaniye for a quality villa holiday at Villa Han and enjoy the local way of life, the food, the views and the peace and quiet.
