Enquire nowThe Turquoise Coast/Lycia region
Icmeler is a beautiful beach resort on the historic Lycian Turquise Coast only 6 kilometers from the large and vibrant resort of Marmaris. This pine forested heaven is infused with all the atmosphere of both the Mediterranean and the Aegean Seas and is truly picturesque against the backdrop of magnificent Taurus Mountains. Drifting away amongst palm trees and Eucalyptus on the stunning Icmeler beach may well be your idea of the perfect holiday, but if that’s not enough, a wide range of sporting and cultural activities and excursions will ensure that there’s always plenty to do.
This olive and honey farming community is home to the best plant for producing oxygen in the world, the Sigla (or Gunnuk), which only found here and in California. This plant and the pristine forests and the beach (which has been given the Blue Flag eco-award) create one of the most revitalizing surroundings for a beach holiday. Icmeler’s exemplary tourist facilities are harmoniously incorporated into the natural habitat of the area. The nightlife is vibrant and there are plenty of restaurants, bars and nightclubs to choose from, and just down the road, the many Marmaris nightclubs provide nights not far off those found in Ibiza.
The Marmaris / Icmeler area
LOW PRICED AND BREATHTAKING EXCURSIONS AND ACTIVITIES THAT TAKE OFF JUST A FEW STEPS AWAY FROM YOUR HOME:
EPHESUS- attracts millions every year with its spectacular archaeology and sights. Being one of the best preserved and largest ancient Roman sites in the Mediterranean, Ephesus offers sights like the Temple of Artemis (one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World), the Library of Celsius, The Ancient Brothel and an impressively large amphitheatre which has hosted stars like Elton John and Tom Jones. Ephesus has played a great role in the history of Christianity. St. Paul stayed here for three years during which he wrote his letters to the Corinthians. Situated 9 km ahead of Ephesus is the entrancing shrine of the Virgin Mary where she came with St. John to spread Christianity and spend her last days on earth. The shrine has been declared a pilgrimage site by the Vatican.
ICMELER BOAT TRIP- only snow can spoil this day! Lots of fun, lovely scenery, plenty swimming, snorkeling and sun-bathing. Visit the legendary five bays of Marmaris. Three stops for off-the-boat swimming (step into the sea or simply plunge off the deck) and two villages; Kumlubük and Turunç for walking ashore. Fish feeding at Paradise Island and the eerie Phosphorus Caves are what we call short click-click breaks of the trip. B.B.Q Lunch is always taken as a feast by sea air-boosted appetites.
DALYAN- with its five-mile long stretch of golden sand Turtle beach, surrounded by salt water on one side and fresh water on the other, the Lycian Rock Tombs and the glorious Mud Baths, Dalyan remains one of the most unique corners of the Earth. Either by boat or by coach, once in the resort you will be taken further on river boats to visit the sights of Dalyan. The river boat cruises through tall reeds and maze-like passages of the Dalyan Delta and will surely remind you of Humphrey Bogarts’ The African Queen. Stop over at the magnificent Rock Tombs of Caunos carved high in the cliff. Let yourself be carried back through history as your guide tells you the beguiling story of the ancient site of Caunos. And finally the Source of Youth; The Mud Baths. It’s fun, it’s rejuvenating and it surely is, a great chance for a hilarious snapshot!
PAMUKKALE- the rich thermal springs, which pour down the hillside, over thousands of years, have formed these bizarre cascades of travertine and mineral pools. With its peculiar lime terraces and mineral baths, Pamukkale is a perfect work of mother-nature and unique in the world today. The sights of ancient Hierapolis are in walking distance and equally impressive.
RAFTING- archaically named Indos, the Dalaman River was once the border between the ancient civilizations of Caria and Lycia. With its ever-flowing whitewaters, awe-inspiring wilderness, beautiful canyons and ancient remains, the venue provides a perfect backdrop for this heart-pounding activity. The journey from Icmeler to the base takes about an hour.
MARMARIS NIGHTLIFE- currently one of the most popular tourist resorts in Turkey, and is undoubtedly the place to go if you need a nightly dose of bars, foam parties and elaborate nightclubs, because when dusk falls, the resort is ignited in a swarm of neon lights and lasers. Icmeler has also a lot to offer in this sense, but Marmaris center is indeed comparable to Bodrum, Ibiza or Majorca.
TURKISH NIGHT- is also highly reccomanded and a differnet way to party. Great traditional turkish live music, belly dance compilations, great food and lots to drink offers a great night out for young and mature.
TURKISH BATH- an Oriental tradition, not to be missed! What better way to start your holiday than with the total indulgence of a Turkish bath? The luxurious treatments will leave your mind and body prepared for the days ahead and will give your skin a head start for that perfect tan. For centuries, the Turkish bath has played an important part in our culture. So when in Turkey, do as the Sultans did: Take a Turkish bath!
SCUBA DIVING- discover what beauty lies beneath the waves. Icmeler, with its clear Mediterranean blue waters and great underwater visibility offers sensational diving opportunities for divers of any level.
QUAD SAFARI- experience the thrill of mastering a quad bike on this exciting day bound to be the highlight of your holiday. An unbeatable adventure for both young and mature adventure seekers.
HORSE SAFARI- a short drive of 20 minutes and you are on a horseback, easy-riding through pine forests, orange groves and wild rivers while the village life around continues unspoilt. No experience needed to have a wonderful time, just simply stay on the saddle and let your horse do the rest. Well trained placid horses behave their best for their shy riders.
CLEOPATRA BEACH- the sands of the island are legendary and are believed to have been imported as a gift to Cleopatra. Walk barefoot along the stretch of pale pink sand which squeaks with each step and know that this unique sand is to be found nowhere else in the world. The Amphitheatre and fortifications are also well worth a visit if you can bear to tear yourself away from the breathtaking backdrop of mountains which frame the bright azure waters of the bay.
VILLAGE TOUR- boasting numerous bars and vibrant night-life, Marmaris and Icmler can be anything but traditional. Yet even in a place like Marmaris, ‘the traditional Turkey’ is not as far away as you may think. Allow yourself to discover the simplicity of rural life, natural beauty and meet the local people who will enchant you with their genuine hospitality and traditional cooking

Ok so this is a bit of a late review but definitely not forgotten how great our stay garden villas was September last year. After ringing numerous places trying to find a affordable place for myself, girlfriend, 1 year old daughter and motherror in law I gave Timur a call, who was very helpfull and informative. All we had to do was book the flights and pass on the details to him, he kindly organised for a taxi to pick us up from dalaman airport with a car seat for my daughter. When we arrived at the villa we were greeted at 2am by timurs brother who helped carry all of our luggage inside who also gave us a tour around. The villa was in immaculate condition we had 2 balconies with a large table and chairs, all the flooring was marble and tiles, full air conditioning in every room and new kitchen facilities. After a long flight (4 hours with a baby lol) it was relief to find we couldn't have chosen a better place to stay! the next morning we were greeted by timurs father who was very friendly to all of the family, he showed us around the garden which was beautifully maintained by the gardener every day, they even have a tortoise!!! And plenty of fruit trees. swimming pool.. had it all to ourselves, clean and new, perfect Icmeler: just outside the villa there is a restraunt called amigo where we spent most of our time, brilliant family entertainment. Beach: 2 minute walk or 10 secs on the quad bike :) So to sum up our holiday here was 10/10 thank you! |

It was our first time in Turkey and it came as a very pleasant surprise. The scenery is stunning, the people delightful and the food varied, good and cheap. Icmeler is set in a beautiful bay surrounded by dramatic mountains, everywhere you look it is lush and green-something we had not expected . Garden Villa is tucked away in a largely residential area about five minutes from the beach and less than two minutes to bars/ restaurants. A car is not necessary public transport is frequent and reasonable, whether it be dolmus or water taxi which is great fun. Simply, but adequately furnished(the beds in particular were very comfortable) the villa was spotless inside and out. The real selling point however for us was the outside space where you got the impression a considerable amount of money had been spent. When you walked out the door you were met with a really beautiful view. An exceptionally large swimming pool, pretty landscaped gardens, comfy loungers, plenty patio furniture all wrapped up in a fabulous mountain backdrop. Laze around the pool all day, walk along the 9km promenade to Maramaris or go on one of the numerous reasonably priced boat trips(we went to Rhodes) you will not be bored. Finally I have to mention the owner who went out of his way to be helpful throughout the booking process. He forwarded lots of information on the area, suggestions for day trips etc and was only a phone call away should we have any queries. A caretaker was also available on a daily basis . I have booked many villas/apartments in the past but have never had such an efficient personal service. It was a delight to deal with him and I would not hesitate to recommend this villa to friends. |

The villa was ideal and well equipped. The gardens and pool are great, it is surprisingly peaceful given its location to all the bars and restaurants. The owners and caretaker have been exceptionally accommodating, which made our holiday all the more enjoyable. |
