Yesil Ev - Villas in Turkey
Villa | 2 bedrooms | sleeps 4
Welcome to an un-crowded holiday in Turkey.
Yesil Ev is a group of three stone cottages, rebuilt by an English owner, with furniture and fittings made by local craftsmen. If you set aside the obvious truth that you need a plane and taxi to get there, then this is as sustainable, low-impact a holiday as you can find - the future, surely, for Mediterranean tourism.
Yesil Ev is ideal for those who want to escape the city life in search of a relaxing holiday, is located in Sogut, a little village just an hour from bustling Marmaris, on the edge of the Aegean, just before it merges into the Med around the next headland on the Bozburun Peninsula 7 km from Bozburun.
Yesil Ev can accommodate one to twelve people, in three villas set in a lush Mediterranean garden. Each villa has a private verandah, two double bedrooms and a bathroom. There is also a fridge and facilities for making hot drinks. Each room has a fan and there is WiFi connection.
Various tracks lead down the hill from Yesil Ev to the coast where you will find 3 restaurants – the Octopus which specialises in fish, The Captains Table a small family run restaurant and Küçük Ev which speciaises in Turkish Pide.
The beaches are a perfect spot to relax with a good book and the various platforms and jetties which lead off the beach are ideal to jump from into the water for a cooling dip, or you have the option of walking sections of the Carian trail.

The Turquoise Coast/Lycia region
Sö?üt, Taslica, Bozburun, Knidos and Dalyan:
Sogut is a rural coastal village where time seems to have stood still.
Yesil Ev is in Kizilyer Sogut, an area of small farms where locals go about their daily lives as they have done for the last 50 years.
The beaches are a perfect spot to relax with a good book and the various platforms and jetties which lead off the beach are ideal to jump from into the water for a cooling dip.
There are also beautiful historical sights you can easily visit, and example of one of these is Taslica. Taslica is the last village on the Bozburun Paninsula and enjoys fantastic panoramic views of the sea that surround the village on three sides, and scattered over the hills are the ruins of older settlements including the ruins of the city of Pheonix, and the ancient Carian settlement.
Bozburun is a small and relaxing coastal village. An abundance of local flora and fauna lies on the green hills around. Bozburun is a centre of excellence for producing traditional wooden gulet boats.
Selimiye is just along the coast from Turgutkoy and Orhaniye. It has a public quay and seaside boardwalk and is a perfect place to explore the many restaurants and quaint shops.
Further afield on the Datca peninsular are the ancient ruins the of Knidos.
Close to Dalyan are the ancient ruins of Kaunos and the Lycian Tombs.
