The Farmhouse Wing at Lower Church Farmhouse is a superb, two-bedroom wing of a17th century former farmhouse near Bath. The spacious, centrally heated accommodation offers high quality modern facilities combined with lovely period features, including inglenook fireplace, original bread ovens and oak beams.

The ground floor is open plan, incorporating the kitchen, sitting room and dining area. The large, triple-aspect kitchen has two original bread ovens (non- working) as an interesting feature and an attractive solid oak floor. It is equipped with all the usual modern appliances, including an electric range-style cooker and dishwasher. French doors lead onto the lovely large garden with an extensive lawn and flowerbeds, plus a sunny patio which has patio furniture for guests to use and views over Marksbury village. The garden is great for relaxing, barbeques and outdoor dining.

The sitting room and dining area has an attractive stone mullion window overlooking the front garden and a large inglenook fireplace. An initial supply of fuel for the fire is included in the rental price. There is a large, comfortable sofa and chairs and oak dining table and chairs. The television is a 42 inch flat screen and there is also a DVD player, iPod docking station and free wireless internet access.

Stairs lead to the first floor, where the first double bedroom has an en-suite bathroom with fabulous roll-top bath, WC and washbasin. The double bed has an antique-style metal frame and a high quality pocket-sprung mattress. The second double bedroom also has a metal-framed double bed with pocket-sprung mattress, plus a stone mullion window and its own en-suite shower room. A good quality put-you-up bed can be provided to accommodate an extra guest/child in the first bedroom. There is ample parking on the large driveway.

The standard of decoration, furniture, furnishings, carpets, equipment, bedlinen and towels throughout this property is high. It has not been formally assessed for a star rating, but prospective guests can be reassured that the standard of accommodation and facilities surpasses that of our other holiday property, The Bungalow, (Property No 370259), which was assessed as 4 Star, with a Gold Award, by Visit Britain in 2013.

The property is ideally situated for visiting Bath, Bristol, Wells, Weston-super-Mare and many other attractions such as Longleat, Stonehenge, Cheddar Gorge and National Trust properties such as Stourhead, Dyrham Park and Tyntesfield. Marksbury is a village 5 miles from the outskirts of Bath and 4 miles from Keynsham, situated on the A39 where it meets the A368. It has an interesting church, believed to be late 12th century in origin. It is only a 10-15 minute drive to the centre of Bath, and there are nearby Park & Ride bus services to Bath and Bristol. There are several pubs a short drive away, serving great food and a convenient small supermarket and petrol station a couple of minutes' drive away. Facilities for golf, swimming, fishing, spa days, paintballing, quadbiking and horseriding are all nearby, plus the considerable shopping and cultural opportunities Bath and Bristol offer.

Marksbury is ideally situated to provide you with beautiful walks. There is wonderful countryside to explore right from the door or a short drive away and the Cotswold Way is close by.
